Having' thus described my invention, I claiim- A key operated stringed musical instrument comprising a easing having a key board, al plurality ot' strings extending in a horizontal plane transversely in said casing below the key board, a plunger for each key, pairs of plectrums pivoted in opposed relation in each plunger, said plectrums engaging the strings on their upward movement, means for actuatinzgr said plungers and means to release said plectrums upon raising said plungers.
