Although the foregoing is generally descriptive of the referred embodiment of the invention, it 1s not desired to be restricted to the exact construction, as changes may be made within the scope and spirit of the appended claim.

Having' thus described my invention, I claiim- A key operated stringed musical instrument comprising a easing having a key board, al plurality ot' strings extending in a horizontal plane transversely in said casing below the key board, a plunger for each key, pairs of plectrums pivoted in opposed relation in each plunger, said plectrums engaging the strings on their upward movement, means for actuatinzgr said plungers and means to release said plectrums upon raising said plungers.
