PLUG ATTACHMENT.

- This invention relates to electric plug devices and particularly to devices of this class for use in connection with electric sockets and principally wall sockets; and the object of the invention is'to provide a plug of the class specified with. means for facilitating the withdrawal or removal of a plug from a socket to prevent wear and tear on the electric cord in connection with which the plug is employed, and also to facilitate the easy withdrawal or removal of the plug; a further object being to provide an attachment which may be detachably mounted in connection with the plug and is provided with laterally directed hookshaped arms adapted to receive two or more fingers of a hand in the use of 'the device, said attachment being apertured to permit the passage of the contact members or terminals of the plug therethrough and being. composed of insulated material or be- .ing insulated from the terminals of lthe plug; and with these and other objects in view, the invention consists in a device of the class and for the purpose specified, which is simple in construction, eflicient in use, and which is constructed as hereinafter described and claimed.
The invention is fully disclosed in the following specification, of which the accompanying drawing forms a part, in which the separate parts of my improvement are designated b suitable reference characters in each oft e views, and in which Fi 1 is a side view of a plug showing one orm of my attachment mounted thereon with part of the construction in section.

In Figs. 1 and 2 of the drawing, I have shown at 5 one form of attachment which I employ which comprises. a dish-shaped or cup-shaped cylindrical body 6, the walls of which are extended at opposite points to form outwardly curved arms 7, the recesses 8 of which are adapted to receive the fingers of a hand and the transverse wall of the body 6 is provided with apertures 9 through which ment.

With both forms of construction shown,
it will be understood that the attachment is mounted in connection with the plug 12 prior to its placement in an electric socket, and when it is desired to remove the plug from the socket, the fingers of a'hand are placed in engagement with the arms 7-15 and the removal of the plu is facilitated by pulling outwardly on sai arms. The inwardly projecting member 16 on the arms 15 of the attachment 13 serve to lock the plug 12 within said attachment to prevent the accidental displacement thereof. However the spring tension on the arms themselves may be sufficient to accomplish'this result, or to frictionally retain the plug 12 in position or in connection with the attach- It will also be understood that I am not necessarily limited to the specific means or method of accomplishing the desired result herein set out and as the provision of laterally projecting elements of any kind or class on a plug for the purpose specified may be employed, and various other changes in modifications of the construction herein shown and described, may be made withln the scope of the appended claims without departing from the spirit of my invention or sacrificin itsadvantages;

An attachment for electric plugs of conventional form adapted for attachment with the plug without altering the structure thereof, said attachment comprisln a cupshaped body adapted to be moun on said plug and provided with laterally and radially projecting arm members adapted to receive the fingers of'a hand in the removal of a. plug from an electric socket.
2. An attachment for electric plugs of conventional form adapted for attachment with the plug without altering the structure thereof, said attachment comprising a cup shaped body adapted to be mounted on said plug and provided with laterally and radially projecting arm members adapted to receive the fingers of a hand in the removal of a plug from an electric socket, and means for insulating the attachment from the terminals of the plug.
3. An attachment for electric plugs of conventional form ada ted for attachment with the plug without a tering the structure thereof, said attachment comprisiu a cupshaped body adapted to be mounted on said plug and provided with laterally and radially projecting arm members adapted to receive the fingers ofa hand in the removal of a plug from an electric socket, and means for retaining the attachment against accidental displacement from the plug.

An attachment for electric plugs of conventional form adapted for attachment with the plug without altering the structure thereof, said attachment comprisin a cupshaped body adapted to be mounte on said plug and provided with laterally and radiall projecting arm members adapted to receive the fingers of a hand in the removal of-a plug from an electric socket, means for retaining the attachment against accidental displacement from the plug, and means for ins-ulatin the attachment from the terminals of tie plug.

An attachment for electric plugs of conventional form adapted for attachment with the plug without altering. the structure thereof, said attachment comprising a cupshaped body, the bottom of which is prominals of the plug are adapted to pass in mounting the attachment on the plug, the side walls of said attachment encirclin the side walls of the plug, and'the side wafis of said attachment havin at their outer ends, outwardly and radial y projectin finger pieces, and means for insulating sai attachment from the terminals of Said plu 7.
