The invention to which this application particularly relates'resides in the individual members and in a pack of such members. The magazine with which this pack is particularly useful is disclosed in my copending application Serial No. 42,713, filed July 10, 1925.

Reference will now be made to the accompanying drawing wherein the same reference characters refer to the same parts throughout, and in which- Fig. 1 is a perspective view of a pack of films embodying my invention.

My improved film pack consists of a series of cut film sheets 1. each having a sheath 2. with a dummy sheet 3 at the bottom, and a protective sheet 4 above the top film, the whole being held together during shipment by a paper band or the like 5. This pack will be enclosed in a suitable light tight packing for shipment and storage. and, as the outside wra per may assume any convenient form or design, being no part of my present invention, it is not shown.

Each cut film sheet 1 is of the usual rectangular form and is accompanied by a sheath 2, comprising a backing sheet 6 of the size of the film 1 and having at one end a turned over flange 7. As the sheath is ordinarily made of paper there is a natural tendency of the flange to straighten out. The film is not ordinarily attached to the sheath but one end merely lies under the flange. The top protective sheet 4 is usually a piece oi paper having a tab 8 cut out from it in the manner shown.

When the package has been opened and the band 5 broken, the protective sheet 4 1s removed by the tab 8 and the remaining pack placed in the magazine designed for 1t. This pack usually includes a bottom dummy member 3 of stiff material such as heavy cardboard which gives rigidity to the pack, protects it and serves to indicate when all the films have been used. The end of the member 3 under the flanged ends of the sheath is bevelled at 10 to assist in its cooperation with the magazine septum. As was noted above the flanges 7 having a tendency to straighten out and the cumulative effect of this in all the flanges is to cause this end of the pack to expand as shown in Fig. 6, wherein there is also shown a band 9 encircling the pack transversely. This tendency to expand causes wedge shaped openings 11 to be formed between successive sheaths, which renders easier the entrance of a septum of 'a magazine. The pack tends to fill a magazine with which it is used and it is possible to expose some of the films and remove them in a darkroom, whereupon the expansive tendency of the flanges causes the remaining sheaths to fill the magazine in an operative manner.

In combination, a rectangular cut film sheet and a sheath therefor, the sheath comprising a sheet of paper underlying said sheet of paper and unattached thereto and having at one end only a flange embracing the corresponding end of the sheet, the natural resilience of the paper causing the flange to tend to straighten out;

Agpack of cut films designed for use in a camera magazine and comprising a plurality of cut film sheets and a plurality of sheaths therefor, each sheath comprising a sheet of paper underlying the corresponding sheet and having at one end only a flange embracing the correspondin end of the sheet, the natural resilience of t e paper causing the flanges to tend to straighten out and thereby to separate the film sheets.

A pack of cut films designed for use in a camera magazine and comprising a plurality of cut film sheets and a plurality of sheaths therefor, each sheath comprising a sheet of paper underlyin the corresponding sheet and unattached t ie'reto and having at, at least, one end a flange embracing the corresponding end of the sheet, the natural resilience of the paper causing the flanges tov tend to straighten out and thereby to separate the film sheets.

10. A pack of cut films designed for use in a camera magazine and comprising a plurality of cut film sheets and a plurality of sheaths therefor, each sheath comprising a sheet of paper underlying the corresponding sheet and having at one end only a flange embracing the corresponding end of the sheet, the natural resilience ofi the paper causing the flanges to tend to straighten out and thereby to separate the film sheets, and a sheet of material of greater rigidity than the above mentioned sheets and beveled at that end that corresponds to the flanged end of the separating sheets.
