This invention, stated in general terms, relates to building construction, particularly 4floors and ceiling structures of concrete. In work of this character great ditliculty isv experienced with the labor problem. Not only must skilled labor be employed but the expense incident thereto is almost prohibitive.
According to the present invention I propose to employ structural parts which may be readily assembled by unskilled labor thus iirst eliminating the need for skilled labor and second, bringing building costs nearer i normal, the advantages of which are readily tal-:en in connection With the accompanying drawings forming part hereof, and in which: Fig. 1 is a view in section of a floor and ceiling structure embodying the inventlon. Fig. 2 is a top or plan view thereof. Fig. 3 is a view in section taken at right angles to Fig. 1.
Fig. 4 is a View upon an enlarged scale of certain of the parts shown in Fig. 1.
Fig. 5 is a fragmentary View in plan, partly sectioned, of certain of'` the parts shown in Fig. 4; and
Fig. 6 is a detail View of one' of the clips shown in Figs. 1,3 and 4.
For the purpose of illustrating my invention I have shown in the accompanying drawings one form thereof which is at present preferred by me, since the saine has been found in practice to give satisfactory and reliable results, although it is to be understood that the various instrumentalities of which my invention consists can be variously arranged and organized and that my invenl tion is not limited to the precise arrangement and organization of the instrumentalities aS herein shown and described.
Referring tothe drawings in detail the numeral l() designates, I-beams, properly `spaced apart for supporting floor plaster blocks 11 and ceiling plaster blocks 12. These blocks all have bevelled edges 13 so vthat between adjacentedges of the blocks, properly positioned, there occurs V-shaped openings, see Fig. 4. Each block has formed therein at the time of molding a plurality `of rods, some of which, those designated 14,
parallel the I-beams, those designated 15, are arranged at right angles to the I-beams. `All the rods are projected from the bevelled edges of the blocks,
hook-fashion as at 16, see Fig. 4, the extreme ends of each rod being bent over the main part of the rods within the blocks, as at 1 7. The adjacent portions of the hooklike parts of the rods are secured together and others of which,'
by wire 18. Each I-beam has fitted thereover an elongated'U-shaped clip 19, the opposed vertical edges of which are serrated or notched at 20, see Fig. 6. The bottoms of the clips are forked at v21 and apertured at 22 and are bent around the rods 14, see Fig. 4, and nails 23 are driven through the apertures 22 into the ceiling blocks 12. This provides an efficient support for the ceiling' blocks. The clips are provided with spurs 24. which are bent inwardly beneatln the upper parts of the I-beams, see Fig. 4. Concrete or other plastic material is placed within the V-shaped spaces between adjacent blocks as seen in Figs. 1, 3, and 4, the concrete havingv been omitted in Fig. 2, for clearer illustration. As best seen in Fig. 3, the forked ends of the clips 19 straddle abutting hook-shaped ends of the rods 14,
and a prong 25 of the-'serrated' portions of the clips is nt over eachspur 24 to prevent shiftin thereof.
v It will now be apparent that I have devised a novel and useful construction which embodies then features of advantage enu# merated as desirable in the statement of the invention and the above description and while I ha'vefin the present instance shown and described the' preferred embodiment thereof which has been found in practice to give satisfactory and reliable results, it is to be understood that the same is susceptible of modification in various particulars without departing from the spirit'or scope of the invention or sacrificing any of its advantages. What I claim is: 1-
1. In a structure of the character stated, spaced I-beams, floor blocks and ceiling blocks of plaster composition having bevelled edges there being a floor and ceiling block spannin ad'acent beams, said yblocks having embed ed t erein a plurality of rods which are projected from sa1d bevelled parts hook-fashion, hook portions of` adjacent blocks being wired together, and means depending from the upper parts of said I- block spanning adjacent beams, said blocks having embedded therein a plurality of rods some of which parallel the I-beams and others of which are arranged at right angles thereto, which are projected from said bevelled parts hook-fashion, hook portions of adjacent blocks being wired together, and means dependingr from the upper parts of said I-beams for engaging' certain of the hook-shaped ends of said ceiling blocks to support the same. 1
3. In a structure of the character stated, spaced I-beams, floor blocks and ceiling blocks of plaster composition having bevelled edges there being a floor and ceiling block spanning adjacent beams, said blocks having embedded therein a plurality of rods which are projected from said bevelled parts hook-fashion7 Ahook portions of adjacent blocks being wired together, and means` including clips having lower forked and hooked ends depending from the upper parts of said I-beams for engaging certain of the hook-shaped ends of .said ceiling blocks to support the same.

In a structure' of thepcharacter stated spaced I-beams, ioor blocks and ceiling blocks yof plaster composition having bevelled edges -there being a floor and ceiling block spanning adjacent beams, said blocks having embedded therein a plurality of rods which are projected from said bevelled parts hook-fashion, hookl portions of adjacent blocks being Wired together, and means depending from the upper parts of said I- beams for engaging certain of the `hookshaped ends of said ceiling blocks to support the same, adjacent faces of allof said blocks forming V-shaped portions which portions have a concrete till.
