PATENT OFFICE,
DARAH ABDOUCH, OF ON'EILL, NEBRASKA.
DISPLAY RACK FOR SHOlV GASES.
Application filed June 9,
The object of this invention is the provision of a shoe supporting rack for show cases of a construction whereby the shoes are supported so the same may be viewed from the sides as well as from the ends of the case.
To the attainment of the above broadly stated objects and others which will appear as the nature of the invention is better understood, reference is to be had to the drawing which accompanies and which forms part of this application.
In the drawing Figure 1 is a front elevation with parts broken away and parts in section.
Figure 2 is a transverse sectional view approximately on the line 22 of Figure 1.
Figure 3 is a perspective view of one of the rod supporting brackets.
Preferably my improved case is mounted on casters so that the same can be conveniently wheeled to fully display the contents thereof. This, however, is not an absolute requirement as the case may be placed in the center of a store room so that the contents thereof can be observed from all angles.
The case includes a base 1 provided with spaced drawers 2 that are slidable from the opposite sides of the case. The case proper is indicated by the numeral 3. The case 3, as well as the base 1 may be highly ornamented, and both the front and rear of the case are provided with slidable dust-proof doors 4-. The doors have transparent panels as have the ends of the case. The inner corners of the case are of wood and have secured thereto bars 5. Each of the bars is provided with longitudinal and transverse slits and the metal bounded thereby is bent outwardly to form spring tongues 6. The tongues on the respective bars 5 are arranged in the same plane so that the said tongues will frictionally engage the straight inner and lower walls of brackets. Each of the brackets is broadly indicated by the numeral 7 and is constructed of metal to provide a lower U-shaped or channeled portion and 1924. Serial No. 718,918.
angle channeled walls extending therefrom. The rear base plate of each of the brackets is indicated for distinction by the numeral 8, and the outer base plate by the numeral The base plate 9 is not of a length equalling that of the rear plate 8 and it is the portions of the rear plate beyond the said front plate 9 that are engaged by the clips 6. The outer or front wall of the base is formed at determined intervals with notches 10.
F or distinction the substantially inverted V-shaped portion of each of the brackets T has its rear wall indicated by the numeral 11 and its outer wall by the numeral 12. The outer wall is formed, adjacent the peak of the said V-shaped portion with notches 13. The notches are designed to receive therein the ends of rods 4, and the rods are so spaced that the front of the heel of a slipper or shoe 15 rects thereon and the sole of the said footwear rests on the next lower adjacent rod. Other rods may be received in the notches 10 of the front wall of the opposed brackets and support thereon shoes or other footwear, the same being amply spaced from the first mentioned angularly disposed rods 14 so that the footwear resting thereon will be properly displayed.
Having described the invention, I claim A shoe supporting rack comprising two oppositely supported members, each comprising a base plate having its lower edge, from points adjacent to its ends, flanged outwardly and upwardly and the last mentioned flanges being formed with spaced notches, each of said base plates being integrally formed with a Vshaped central outwardly projecting portion, the angle arms of which having their inner edges formed with outstanding portions which merge into angle flanges disposed in a plane with the said V shaped portions and the said flanges being provided with spaced notches, and all of the notches designed to receive shoe supporting bars therein.
In testimony whereof I affix my signature.
DARAH ABDOUCH.
