This invention 'relates to looms and in particular to sof-called box-looms, `that is, looms inv which a plurality of shuttlesv are used and they are vselectively brought to position vfor flight across the lay by shifting a container or'boxv structure therefor into proper relation tothe lay or hatten for such flight of the selected shuttle. In the present adaptation of the improved box-loom two shuttles are employed and they are'de signed tobe calledV alternately at regular intervals; in short, the loom is of the twoby-one type, i. e., wherein there is asingle or fixed box at one endof theflay Vand/a f shifting box structure'having two cells for the two shuttles Vat the other end.` These detailshowever, are to be regarded asl immaterial. `'The present application is rnyuapplication, Serial No. April'Q, 1923.V

with one side ofthe loom and being equipped with an extension frame in which the box-structure is to slide, according to the usual construction of box looms, 'it is left extending and provided with the' slotV 9 for the picking member, asin plain looms. 11 (Fig. 3) is the shuttle race-board, which in the present case 'is made' totermina-te near the `side frame loflthe loom.
A plate 13 (Fig. 3)v is fixed on -the projecting end of the battenfand forms'the bed on which the boxestructure is to slide.
Near its inner end it has atransverse groove 111 formed in its top surface; it'sjouter end portion is thickened up and has an overhang 15. The plate yalso has a'slot 1G which registers withthe vslot 9of the hatten. At its inner end and at front and back it has the upstanding ears 18. At the back two bearing arms 19 project from the plate,`the purpose of which will be explained hereinafter. f

The spring, acting through the lever, normally exerts pressureY on the strip 34: which coacts normally with .the partition `to grip v a shuttle if present in the' box.
