9 is a detailed view of the inner end of thev p-edal crank as viewed froin line 9 of Fig.r 6. y f n The enibodiinent illustrated in Fig. 1 coniprises a front wheel 10, journaled as will later bedescribed, between front fork meinbers 11 which are secured to a tube 12 by ineans of a bolt 18. rlhis tube is journaled in a bearing consisting of a sleeve 14 and upper and lower dish- ed plates 15 and 16, the whole being secured to Lthe platform. 1i" by means of bolts 18.

A steering shaft 19 is insertable into the hollow tube`12 and has a slot 2O in the lower end which passes over the bolt 13 so that as the boy operating the device grasps 'the Lie handles 421 he inay turn the shaft 19 and through this the front forks 11 and front wheel 10 to .steer the pedal car shown.
A spring 22 (Fig. 2) issecured to the lower end of the tube 12 by ineans of av rivet 245i and carriesv a plunger 24 which passes through an opening in the side ofthe tube 12 and is adapted to engage a recess or de pression 25 in the shaft 19. The washer 26 is placed above the flanged sleeve 14 and te a y.snap ring 27 is placed a little above th-e washer in a groove 28 in the shaft 19.

In Fig. 4 is .shown a somewhat similary method for dissfsseinblingy the front wheel 10 froin its pedal cranks and fronithe steering fork 11. rlhis wheel consists of tw'o ,oppositely dished disks 29 which arey mounted upon ay hollow shaft 30 preferably of polygonal cross-section. A spacer Slis secured to one side of this shaftby means of a rivet 32 and serves asv ay spacer for the disks 29.

ldlhile I have shown andfdeseribed but a few embodiments of this invention, it is to be understood that it is capable of many modifications. Changes therefore in the construction and arrangement may be made which do not depart from the spirit and scope of the invention as disclosed in the appended claims.
I claim:
l. In a quiclndemonntable toy construction, a hollow member, a driving member inserti'ble therein, coacting means for preventing relative rtation of said members, and yieldable means for holding said driving member in said hollow member but permitting its withdrawal when a pull of more than a predetermined amount is exerted.
2. In a quick-demountable toT construction, a hollow member, a driving member insertible therein, coacting means for preventing relative rotation of said members, and a spring-pressed plunger carried by one of said members and 'engageable in a depression in the other for holdingksaid driving member in said hollow member 'but permitting its The cranksy withdrawal when a pull of more than a predetermined amount is exerted.
