This invention relates to containers, and more particularly to a reinforced fibre container.
The object of the invention is to provide a container which may be readily produced and which has its head reinforced and secured in position by a metal band or strip which grips the head and clamps it effectively to the side wall or walls of the container;
With the above and other objects in view the invention consists in the construction hereinafter set forth and all equivalents.
' In the drawings: Fig. 1 is a detailed vortical sectional view through a container embodying the invention; Fig. 2 is a view similar to Fig. 1 showing the container partly assembled.
The subject-matter of the invention relates to the means employed for connecting the head to the side of the cover or body of the container, and as such means may be identical for either the cover or the body of the container, the body of the container alone has been shown in detailfor the purose of explaining the invention. The sides 3 of the container, as well as the sides of-the cover, are composed of fibre, either gubing or other suitable shape, such 'fibre tubing usually being made up of a number of wrappings of paper of fibre sheets.
A metal sheathing, as a band 4, preferably of thin sheet metal or other suitable sheet metal, is designed to be slipped over one end of the box siding or cover siding.
The head 5 of the box, or the cover, is of fibre and may consist of several laminations, as shown, with one or more of these laminations bent up, as at 6, to form a dished head, and in case of a tubular container is in cylindrical form and is fittedflanged part 6 of the cover, the outer edge.

I desire it to be understood that this invention is not to be limited to any specific form or arrangement of parts except in so far as such limitations are specified in the claim.
What I claim as my invention is:
In a container, the combination of a siding, a metal band fitting over an end of said siding and a laminated head having a dished member fitting within said siding and a flat member fitting within the flanged portion of said. dished member, parts'of said band, siding and the flanged portion of said dished member being rolled inwardly into clamping engagement with said-flat member of said head.
