My invention relates to an improved mounting for electric light bulbs, it particularly relating to a mounting which is especially designed for installation in electric signs.
One of the objects of the invention is to provide a mounting so constructed as to per mit the line wires to be readily connected thereto without the necessity of cutting or bending the'wires; and, further, in this con ncction to provide an arrangement whereby the line wires may be extended over a series of the mountings so as to connect the lines in multiple and at the same time allow the line wires to be strung in straight parallel lines throughout the casing of the sign without bending or cutting.
A further object of the invention is to provide in amounting of the twin type a simple and effective arrangement of terminals and electrical connections for conveying the current to the light bulbs.
A further object of the invention is to pro vide a mounting which will be simple in construction, economical in manufacture, easily installed and effective in use.

Referring to the drawings, the mounting comprises a base 1, a pair of sockets 2 and 3, divided by a division wall 1, and a pair of oppositely extending laterally projecting line wire supports 5 and 6, all integrally formed from porcelain or other suitable in sulating material. Each end of the base 1 is provided with an open ended slot 7. to re ceive suitable fastening devices by which the mounting may be secured in position onthe bottom 8 of the casing of the sign, the sides of which are indicated at 9 and one end at 9 in Fig. 4. The walls of the socket 3 are provided with openings 11 for the purpose explained below.
Each socket has a metal bushing 12 and 13, the inner end of each bushing having an inturned flange 14. to receive a series of screws 15 which extend through the division wall 14 to hold the sockets in position and to also act as conductors for the current. Secured'on each side of the division wall a is a metal terminal piece 16 and 16 which terminals are secured in position by a screw bolt 17 which passes through the division ing screw which serves to clamp one or the line wires 26 to an upturned lip 24 projecting from one of the sides of the portion 21. A similar metallic conductor strip 27 is secured by the screw 28 to the other supporting member 5 and projects through the opening 10 the socket 3 and is secured. by one of the screws 15. This strip 27 is likewise formed with an upwardly projecting extension 29 bent laterally as indicated at 30 in Fig. 4L and threaded to receive a binding screw 31 which serves to clamp the other line wire 32 to an upturned lip 31. The light bulbs 33 are screwed in the bushings in contact with the terminals 16 and 16.
The circuit is as follows: from line wire 26 through strip 18 to terminal 16. bulb 33. bushing 13, terminal strip 27, to line wire 32; also from line wire 26, through strip 18, screw 17, terminal 16, bulb 33, bushing 12, screws 15, conductor strip 27 to line wire 32.
By this construction, particularly the provision of the laterally-projecting supports 5 and 6, it will be seen that the line wires 26 and 32 may be strung along a series of mountings such as shown in Fig. 4 and may be secured to each mounting without the necessity of cutting or bending the wires; further, the arrangement of sockets, bushings, terminals and conductors is one which is simple, permitting the ready assembling of the parts as well as being economical in manufacture.
Having thus described my invention I claim:
1. In a mounting of the character described, a supporting base member, a pair of aligned oppositely=projecting members, a division wall member between socket said socket members, and laterally and oppositely-projecting conductor supporting members, said base member projecting in the direction of the longitudinal axes of said socket members and beyond the same, those portions which extend beyond the socketbeing apertured to receive fastening devices, all of said members being integrally formed of insulating material, conductor strips carried by the upper portions of said laterally projecting supporting anembers, and means for attaching line vires to said conductor strips so that the line Wires ivill project in parallel relation with the: axes of saidsocket members along the upper side of the mounting and above the supporting base. 4
