R. L. GULLICK PLOW ATTACHMENT Filed Dec. 9, 1924 Patented May 25, 1926.
PATENT OFFICE.
ROBERT L. GUI-LICK, OF ENGLAND, ARKANSAS.
PLOW ATTACHMENT.
Application filed December 9, 1924. Serial No. 754,782.
This invention relates to plow attachments and it consists in the novel features hereinafter described and claimed.
An object of the invention is to provide an attachment in the form of a plate of elongated configuration and convexed transversely, the plate having one long straight edge and an opposite long convex edge, the said edges intersecting each other at sharp angles at the opposite ends of the plate. A cleat is carried at the rear side of the plate and may receive a standard by means of which the attachment may be connected with the beam of the plow.
In the accompanying drawings Figure 1 is a side elevational View of the plow attachment.
Figure 2 is a. top plan view thereof.
Figure 3 is a rear side elevational view of the plow attachment.
As illustrated in the accompanying drawing, the plow attachment consists of a plate 1 which is elongated and which is concaved transversely. The plate 1 is provided with one straight long edge 2 and an opposite curved long edge 3. The edges 2 and 3 intcrsccteach other at sharp angles at the ends l and of the plate. A cleat 6 is secured at the rear side of the plate 1 and is adapted to receive the lower end portion of a standard 7 by means of which the plate may be connected with the beam of the plow (not shown). The cleat 6 is provided with an arcuate slot 8 which receives a securing bolt 9 and whereby the cleat may be adjusted with relation to the plate and the lower free edge of the plate may be positioned at a de sired angle with relation to the lower portion of the plow beam.
The attachment may be used to advantage in conjunction with cultivator plows and may be used for throwing the soil toward or away from a row of standing plants or it may be connected with the forward portion of a beam of a plow at the coulter and used. for distributing manure over the surface of the soil just in advance of the turning of furrow slice.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim is:
A plow attachment consisting of an elongated plate concaved transversely throughout its length and having a bottom longitudinally extending straight edge, a top longitudinally extending curved edge merging into one end of the straight edge at an acute angle, the other end of the curved edge merging into an end straight edge disposed atan acute angle to the longitudinally extending bottom straight edge.
In testimony whereof I atfix my signature.
ROBERT L. GULLIGK,
