The object of the invention is to provide a simple frame which may be cheaply constructed so that a card may be inserted readily in it and easily removed therefrom, but which will be held against accidental displacement.

With the foregoing and other objects in view which will appear as the description proceeds, the invention resides in the combination and arrangement of parts and in the details of construction hereinafter de 1 scribed and claimed, it being understood that changes in the precise embodiment of the invention herein disclosed, may be made within the scope of what is clalmed, without departing from the spirit of the invention.

In the embodiment illustrated a rectangular plate 1 is shown having counter-sunk apertures 2 at diametrically opposite corners to receive fastening screws for connecting it to a support.

This holder is cut out in the form of a blank as shown in Figure 5 from a single sheet of metal, the side edges 3 and 4 of which are bent inwardly'to form the flanges shown in Fig. 1, while the end opposite flange 3 is curved as shown at 5, the inner face of the curve being concaved and which is designed to form a stop to prevent the accidental displacement of the card to be mounted in this holder. A'rece'ss 6 is cut out of the curved flange 5 preferably mid way the .ends thereof to facilitate the inser- 1 ion and removal of the card to beheld by the holder.

As shown in Figure 5, the edge of plate 1 opposed to that which carries the flange 4 is also folded inwardly to form a flange 7 at the end of which is a plate 8 bent to form a trough-shaped member which fits closely around flange 3 near one cornerv of the frame. Extending laterally from the upper end of flange 7 is a metal strip 9 which extends entirely across plate 1 and is.

provided at its free end with a plate 10 bent to form a flange encircling trough which fits snnglyaround flange 4 at the corner diagonally opposite from plate 8 and which is secured to plate 1 by a rivet 11 which is the only fastening element employed in the entire structure.

Two strips 12 and 13 extend one from flange 7 and the other from flange 8 diagonally across the front of plate 1 and connect with'strip 9 and plate 10 respectively, being made integral with said elements.

Strip 9 is preferably recessed or curved as shown at 14 with said recess portion registering with the recess 6 in flange 5 and between which strip and said flange the card to be shown is designed to be mounted and which permitsthe finger to grip the edge of the card forwithdrawing it when desired.

It is of course understood that the inturned flanges 3, 4 and 7 are spaced from plate 1 a sufiicient distance to permit to be inserted between them and the plate, the card to be held and the flanges are preferablvcut out at the corners as shown at 16 in Fig. 1. s

In practical operation the card to be exhibited and which may have on" its outer face any indicia desired is inserted from the open end between the curved flange 5 and the strip 9 and extends over plate 1 and under flanges 3, 4 and 7 and strips 12 and 13, with one edge extended into the recess 6 after ithas been inserted.
