Having thus fully. described my invention, what I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is

In an autographic register, a clutch consisting-of driving and driven gears and clutch plates on opposite'sides of the gears, means to support said gears and clutch plates in cooperative relation, means to maintain said gears and clutch plates in engagement with one another until'a predetermined force is applied when they are adapted to slip upon one another 'includipg a yielding member mounted on one side of said clutch, an adjustable nut to regulate the compres sion on said yielding member, means on said nut to positively engage said yielding member to prevent rotation of the latter, means on the yielding, means to in turn positively engage with one of the clutch plates, and means to position and lock said nut in ad- 2.
