IMPROVEMENT IN MATCH-SAFES.
Specification forming part ofLetters Patent No. 157,531, dated December 8, 1874; application led October 7, 1874.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, HENRY H. MCBURNEY, of Boston, of the county of Suffolk and State of Massachusetts, have invented a new and useful Friction-Match Safe or match and stump holder 5 and do hereby declare the same to be fully described in the following specification and represented in the accompanying drawings, of which- Figure l is a perspective View, and Fig. 2 a
vertical section of it.
It consists of two cups, A B, of metal or other suitable material,` connected by chains C C, whereby the inferior cup becomes suspended from the superior or upper one. The said upper cup is to be grooved or toothed on its outer surface, as shown at a, such bein g to enable a friction-match to be inflamed by being' rubbed smartly against it.
In a match-safe, the combination of the twocups A B and their connection-chains O O, arranged substantially as specified.
