have invented a new in Switch Mechaand useful Improvement following is a specifinism, of which the cation.
My invention relates to 'switch mechanism and particularly to current-distributing panels used for controlling the control circuits ofthe truck-type circuit breakers.
One object of my invention is to provide a distributing panel that may be built up from standard parts to constitute a panel having any desired number of circuits and which may readily be altered, as circumstances demand, for any desired number of circuit breakers.
It will be understood that, where a plurality of truck-type circuit breakers are arranged in a row, the feed conductors for the control circuits extend through the circuit-breaker cells from one to another'and the feed conductors are connected to various circuits in each individual cell.
Another object of my invention is to pro- .vide a distributing panel, havin the above characteristics, wherein the insu ating base for supporting the various conductors is adjustably mounted within the cell in an inclined position and is provided with distributing bars adapted to be slidably engaged by contacts carried by the truck when the truck carrying the circuit breaker is moved into the enclosing cell.
Another object of my invention is to rovide a distributing panel with parallel eed conductors andv with intersecting distributing bars that may be selectively connected in such manner that any distributing bar may be connected to any preferred feed conductor. Y
Another object of my invention is to royide a distributin panel having distri uting bars adapted or engagement by ayielding` contact member on the truck, the bars being so arranged that an extensive surface is exposedover which the yielding contact I slides when the truck is moved to closed osition, thereby rendering the distributing bars and contacts self-cleaning.
These and other objects, that will be made apparent throughout the further description of my invention, are' attained b means of the apparatus hereinafter descri d and illustrated in the accompanying drawing, wherein Figure 1 is a transverse section through a portion of a truck-type circuit-breaker cell, showing the distributing panel in plan view, and
Fig. 2 is a transverse section through the panel mechanism shown in Fig. 1, taken on the line II--II of Fig. 1.
The distributing panel illustrated in the drawing is similar to the distributing panel shown in the truck-type circuit breaker disclosed in my co-pendmg application Serial No. 620,149, filed Feb.`20, 1923, and it comrises an insulating base member`3 that 1s detachably secured to `the upper ortion of the enclosing cell 4, by means of) a bar 5 that is vattached to the base member by means of bolts 6. Clips 7 are secured tol the frame 8 of the cell 4 and areprovided with slots 9 for receiving the projecting ends 11 of the bar 5.
The free end of the base member 3 is detachably secured to the cell 4 by means of an angle ironN 12 that is detachably secured to the upper wall of the cell 4, and a bar 13 that is slidably attached to the bolts 14 which are threaded into the bar 12. The free end of the base member 3 is provided with an inclined corner surface 15 for engaging the bar 13. When the bolts 14 are screwed into the bar 12, the base member 3 1is securely held in fixed position in the ce l.
The angle iron 12 is made adjustable so that it may be placed at different positions upon the cell Wall for accommodating base members of different lengths. By reason of the pivoted connection of the panel at one end, base members of different lengths may readily be clamped to the cell wall.
As illustrated in the drawings, the panel is provided with nine feed conductors 16 that are connected to corresponding feed bars 17 that are secured upon the insulating base 3 by screws 18. On the other side of the base members, as many distributing bars 19 as may be desired are secured by screws 21 that extend through the base members and are threaded into the bars, as indicated in Fig. 2. The bars 19 intersect the bars 17 and are adapted to be selectively connected by means of screws` 22.
As indicated in lthe drawings, each distributing bar is connected to a differentv apparent to those side and parallel distributing bars l other side of the base feed bar. In case it is desirable to change the connections of the bars, they may be provided with suitable holes 23 .placed at the points of intersection of the bars for receiving the connecting screws 22.`
As indicated in Fig. 2, the base member 3 is mounted in an inclined position with respect to thehorizontal track (not shown) upon which the truck operates. InfFig. 2, a portion of the truck frame 24 is shown upon which is mounted an insulating block 25 having a lon itudinally movable contact pin 26 that is s idably mounted lin a metal ide member 27 with which an insulating gllock 25 is provided. The pin 26 is provided with a flange 28 for limiting its outward movement which is normally effected by a helical s ring 29 mounted within a socket 31 in tiie insulatin base 25. The guide member 27 is Secure to the anel by means of bolts 32 and 33, the atter of which ,serves as a terminal for the control conductors 34 that lead to the circuit-breaker control mechanism.
As shown, the truck frame 24 is in its closed position wherein the pin 26 is in yielding engagement with the surface of the distributing bar 19. As the truck is with-e.

When the panel is moved into the cell, the pin 26 engages the inclined distributin bar 19 shortly after it passes the outer en thereof and contact pin 26 wipes distributing bar 19,

It is apparent that the construction renders the de vlilce flexible and capable of being altered, wit any desired number of control circuits'and feed conductors.
