CLAUDE E. MELTON, citizens of the United States, residing at Scottsbluff, in the'county 5 of Scotts Bluff and State of Nebraska, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Boiler-Feed Regulators, of which .the following isa specication.
This invention relates to ,al boiler feed regulator andhas-for its object to provide, yin a manner as hereinafter set forth, :means for controlling the operationof a feed pump to regulatethe supply/of water to a steam boiler. Further objects of the invention/are to (provide, in a manner as yhereinafter set forth, a boiler feed regulator, which is simple in its construction` and arrangement, strong, durable, automatic in its action, thoroughly efiicientgand convenient in its use, readily installed, and comparatively inexpensiveto set up.

Referring to the drawings in detail, 1 denotes a support provided with a resilient abutment 2, which extends upwardly rtherefrom as well as being arranged at one end thereof. The other end of the support 1 is provided with a vertically disposed stop member 3 of greater height than the abutment 2. The upper face of the Yabutmentv2 is bevelled, as at 4. The counter-weight 19 is connected to the free end of the rod 18 95 by the hold-fast device 20. f Secured to one side of the tank 7, at that end to which is connected the pipe branches 12 and 14, is a vertically disposed bar 21,
which extends above and depends below the tank 7. Hold-fast devices 22 are employed to xedly secure the bar 21 in position.
Leading to the feed pump, not shown, is a normally closed steam line 23 therefor. The
steam line 23 has interposed therein a valve 105 24 having the outer end of its stem 25 provided with a shifting member 26 therefor.
The member 26 isl formed with a pair of oppositely extending arms 27, 28. Pivotally connected to the arm 27, as at 29, is one end of anactuating rod 30 for the member 26. The connection' 29 provides for lost motion. The rod 3() has its other end pivotally connected, 'as at 3l, to the upper end of the bar 21. Pivotally connected, as at 32 t0 the hrm 28 is one end of the actuating rod 33 for the member 26. The connection 32 provides for lost motion. The other end of the actuating rod-33 is pivotally connected, as at 34, to the lower end of the bar 2l.

`It is thought that the many advantages of a boiler feed regulator, in accordance vvith this invention can be readily understood, and although the preferred embodiment of the invention is as shown and described, yet it is to be understood that changes in the details of constructioncan be had which Will fall Wit-hin the scope of the invention as claimed.
