Beit known that I, HARVEY L. BRYANT, a citizen` of the UnitedV States, residing in Newark, in the county of Essex and `State of New Jersey, have invented. a new and useful Improvement in Driers, of which 4the following is a specification.
This `invention relates in general to drying apparatus, and in the particular einbodiment illustrated in the drawings, it is shown as utilized in a combined lining and drying machine used in the compound gasket lining of can covers. In this type of gasket lining it is 4essential that the covers and the compoundgasket material deposited in the flanges thereof vs'ha'll be thoroughly dried prior to the application of the covers to can bodies. While my invention is particularly adapted for use in conjunction I with the apparatus employed for this purpose, it will be understood that it has much broader application, and may, from certain aspects, be considered as a general improve-- ment in conveyor and handling meansV for can covers and other like articles.
A principal object of the inventionris the provision of a drying apparatus having conveyor means for simultaneously moving a' plurality of superimposed or aligned covers through a drying chamber.
A further vobjectofthe inventionis the provision in conjunction with an apparatus of this character of automatic feeding mechanism whereby the covers are rapidly and efficiently fed from a lining machine to a plurality of ing chamber. Y
