Be it known that I, Josnr HAPPACHER, residing at Essen, Germany, a citizen of the German Republic, haveinvented a certain new and useful Improvement in Cinemato I ll 2 and that there is interposed between the single-toothed wheel and the shutter a regulating apparatus which when the slngletoothed wheel is rocked, preserves the synchronous running between this latter and I erence to the accompanying drawings which the shutter. v

In the casing A of the cinematographic apparatus is mounted the driving shaft B, on which is fixed a cord pulley b coupled to the driving motor (not shown in the drawings) and a double gear wheel I) I) (see Fig. 1 and 2). The wheel I) is constructed in the form of a worm wheel and engages with a worm wheel 0 which isfixed on a shaft Cmounted vertically in the casing A.

The wheel b is constructed in the form of a spur Wheel and gears, in theratio of transmission of 1 :1, with a gear wheel G, which has considerably wider teeth than the gear wheel I) and is rigidly connected to a sleeve G This sleeve G is mounted to rotate and also move longitudinally on a shaft H, which engages by means of two oppositely situated partial screw threads 71. in two grooves g in the sleeve G (see Fig. 2 and 3). The shaft H is mounted eccentrically with respect to a rotatable member J mounted in the casing A. This rotatable member J can be rocked about the driving shaft B by means of a pinion shaft K having a milled head 71: and the pinion k of which gears into a toothed sector i the rotatable member J.
The sleeve G is enclosed in a sleeve M, which can be displaced axially in a sleeve shaped guide 2' on the rotatable member J, but is prevented from rotating by a pin i which is fixed in the guide 2' and engages in an axial longitudinal groove m in the sleeve M (see Fig. 1). In the said sleeve M is pro- "vided. a helical groove m in which a par tial screw thread a rigidly fixed to the easing A engages. In comparison .rith the arrangement shown in l to t the construction last described has the advantage that the gear wheel Gr owing to the fact that it s incapable of moving longitudinally. may be provided with teeth of normal width and is also subjected to less wear. 7
In all constructions above described, the centering of the image is thus attained by the fact that by the rocking oi the rotatable member J and therewith of'the single-toothed wheel 72 the fundamental position of the Maltese cross a is changed and the film thereby adjusted. In this case the regulating apparatus which is interposed between the single-toothed wheel/ 2 and the shutter (Z namely 72 G M 0- in Figs. 1 to 4, G M a" in Figs. 5 to l, solves the prob lem of i'naintainiug the relative angular position between the shutter (P, which is not additionally rotated, and the singletoothed wheel 72 that is to say, of maintaining the synchronism of these two parts which is necessary for correct working.
Claims:
1. In a cinematographic apparatus. a film drive including an intermittent driving member, a shutter, said film drive and shutter operating synchronously, he intermittent driving memberof said fihn drive including single-toothed wheel a shaft there for, an intermediate gear wheel. interposed between the shaft of the single-toothed wheel and the. main driving shaft. of the film drive, a displaceable member tor coupling said intermediate gear wheel tothe shaft of the single-toothed wheel, a movement of said displaceable member causing a mutual rotation between said last mentioned shaft and said intermediate gear wheel, means for The wr tlru of the arranoewill be under gle-toothed wheel causes a displacement of said displaceable member.
2. In acinematographic apparatus, a film drive and a shutter, said film drive and shutter operating synchronously, said film drive including a main drive shaft, a singletoothed wheel and a shaft therefor, an intermediate wheel mounted on said last mentioned shaft and driven by said driving shaft, :1 displaceable member for coupling said intermediate wheel to the shaft of said single-toothed wheel, a movcmentof said displaceable member causing a mutual rotation between the shaft of said singletoothed wheel and said intermediate Wheel, a regulating device for rocking said singletoothed wheel andmeans actuated by this said adjustment for causing a displacement wheel, a displacement of said displaceable member causing a mutual rotation between the shaft of said single-toothed wheel and said intermediate wheel, means for causing the displacement of said displaceable member comprising a partial screw-thread rigidly mounted in the casing of the cinematographic apparatus, said displaceable member being formed with a recess and means for rocking said single-toothed wheel and for causing said last mentioned means to displace said displaceable member.
4. In a cinematographic apparatus, a film drive and a shutter, said film drive and said shutter operating synchronously, said drive embodying a single-toothed wheel, a shaft therefor, an intermediate wheel on said shaft and driven by the main driving shaft of the film drive, a displaceable member rigidly connected to said intermediate wheel, said displaceable member operating to couple said intermediate wheel to the shaft of said single-toothed wheel, a displacement of said displaceable member causing a mutual rotation between the shaft of said singletoothed wheel and said intermediate wheel and means for displacing said displaceable member.
