To all whom 'it may concern.'

Be it known that I, KARL Gr. KARsTnN, a citizen of the United States, and resident of New York, in the county of New York and State of New York, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Information-Dispensing Sets, of which the following is a specification.

The invention relates to an article of commerce designed to constitute one set of a see ries of such sets for use in a method of distributing and recording information, such as new items or the information which is usually supplied by clipping bureaus and the like. f

One of the objects of the invention is to provide a conveniently handled instrumentality for supplying information in such a way that there will be vfeatured a service which may be regarded as the equivalent of a daily newspaper' or bulletin service on sheets hereinafter identified as master sheets, and coacting therewith a permanent record of the information in forms available to constitute part of a card-index system and identified hereinafter as cards.

The invention contemplates the coactive operation of the two sets of writings with each set designed to fulfill a peculiar requirement of the service supplied and coacting to complete all requisites ofthe service.

Still another' object of the invention, incidental to the general desideratum to provide efficiency in handling and distributing the information, is to provide the card feature in a set comprising a plurality of similar cards differing from each other in the positioning of a permanently displayed subtitle wlthin range of the card iilers vision and with the sub-title printed in some distinctive type or contrasting colored ink differing from the other matter duplicated on the body of the several cards in the initial printing of the cards.

Still another object of the invention in connection with the master sheet, daily digest or newspaper sheetl is to provide a character of sheet in which the type is open so as to be readily read and which sheet can be assembled in a suitable carrier with other similar sheets for circulation about an ofiice or plant and then destroyed if desired.

Various other objects and advantages of the invention will be in part obvious from an inspection of the accompanying drawformation and other ings and in part will 1n the `following particular description of one `form of card system embodying my invention, and the invention also consists in set forth and claimed.

In the following description and in the claims, parts will be identified by specific' the card the set previously identinames for convenience of expression but they are intended to be as generic in their application to similar parts as the art will permit.

In the drawings and master sheet, shown in Figure 1, there is disclosed a'relatively vlarge sheet 10, provided along one edge with assembling apertures, 11 for assembling the sheets in a temporary binder or suitable carryingor filing device.

These sheets are originally providedv with certain printed matter thereon, such as a heading 12, a designation of office routing 13, and a librarian notice 14, anda heading 15 of subjects covered. The major portion referring first to the of the sheet is blank,and this blank space is designed to be printed or typed with the indata which'it is desired to place on the different master sheets.` It will be understood that one master sheetis prepared and duplicatedv so that each subscriber gets one or more of these sheets. j

The completed sheet when prepared ready for distribution includes the textv 16 which it is desired to distributeand file, together with rio a main classification title 17. claim:

Anarticle to be used in a method of distributing and filing information, includaol ing a temporary sheet or newspaper constituting a daily digest sheet'designedto be thrown away when read, said sheet provided with a writingthereon vand which writing includes atext of theinforniation distributed, a main classificationtitle and la plurality of sub-titles, a plurality of permanent cards, one for each subtitle on .the daily digest sheet, each cardl having cerbeing each a duplicate writingszincluding the text' of theinforniation 'on the daily digest sheet together vwith the main classification title, and'which cards differ from each other in that each ycard'has prominently displayed alongtheupper edge thereof the text of. one of the sub-.titlesfon the dailydigest sheet, said .cardsand sheet adapted to be assembled `for mailing `as 'a unit.

3. An article of manufacture for distributing .and recording information, comprising a set of one master sheet designed for Atemporary use, and aplurality of auxiliary cards designed to constitute part of a card index system, said master` sheet having a writingithereon designed to effect a rapid display of information and the auxiliary cards having two writings there0n,lone constituting a repetition of the text of the information on the master sheet and the other designed to eeet the rapid iling of the nformation in a card index system, the set being linked together into a complete article by the use of similar sub-titles appearing prominently displayed in key-position and Color collectively upon the master sheet and singly upon each of the auxiliary cards.
