1. A cinematograph opera-ting mechanism in which the fan shaft is mounted in bearings adapted to be displaced horizontally on a vertical plate by the relative movement be tween said vertical plate and a frame, and means for effecting the horizontal displacement of said bearings and shaft.
2. A cinematograph machine operating mechanism in which the mechanism is mounted on a vertical plate adapted to rise and fall within a frame the fan shaft being supported in bearings mounted on a base at manner as to allow of horizontal displacement, said base having an inclined end adapted to bear against a roller mounted on said frame, a spring on said frame adapted to maintain said base in contact with said roll er, a helical worm on said fan shaft adapted to mesh with a gear wheel and means for driving said gear Wheel.

said frame carrying the lens and gate, means for raising and lowering said plate, a driving shaft passing through said plate to the intermittent sprocket actuating gear, said intermittent sprocket having a slotted bar rel with a centrally disposed integral collar thereon and adapted to receive therein a screw passing through the intermittent sprocket shaft, a pinion on said intermittent sprocket shaft adapted to engage with a gear wheel mounted on the shaft carrying the lower film sprocket, a helical worm mounted on the fan shaft and engaging said gear wheel, the fan shaft bearings being mounted on a base plate attached to and adapted to slide horizontally on said movable vertical plate, said base plate having an inclined end adapted to register with a roller at tached to said frame, a spring adapted to keep said base plate up to said roller, an upper film sprocket shaft passing through said sliding plate and adapted to be driven from said lower film sprocket shaft by a chain engaging chain sprockets on said up per and lower film sprocket shafts, means for releasing said sliding vertical plate from said frame, and means for moving the vertical plate.
