The primary object of the invention is to simplify and otherwise improve the construction and efficiency of devices of the character above referred to.

A further object is to provide foot and shower bath apparatus associated with a temporarily formed cabinet that does not permanently occupy any room space and is peculiarly applicable for use in a living room of an apartment house, hotel, or the like, where permanent space cannot advantageously be allotted to such'conveniences.

With these and other objects in view, the invention resides in the novel features of construction, arrangement and combination of parts hereinafter described and claimed.

The sink, gutter and sump above mentioned is desirably provided by a single body constructed of a material such, for example, as porcelain, or other known suitable waterproof compositions.

Seated in a rabbet 24 of the sink walls is a removable cover 26 which is preferably provided with drain apertures 25 extending from grooves 27 as shown in Figs. 2 and 3.

Seated in rabbets 28 above the gutters 14 is a grille 29comprising spaced bar elements 30 and 31 disposed longitudinally and at right angles, respectively, with regard to the respective gutter members. The longitudinal bars 30 have their upper surfaces ina plane with the floor and the transverse bars 31 (Figs. 4 and'5) are arranged,

preferably, to have their. upperbeveled surfaces disposed somewhat below the top surface of the bars30 so that water meets the maximum hindrance getting under the doors to reach the room floor 13.

Associated with the devices above describedare movable wall members 38 and 39 in the nature of doors which are hingedly connected'at 40 and 41 to the respective room walls 10 and 11 or, as shown, to casing strips 42 and 43 which are rigid with the room walls. The doors thus arranged are adapted to be housed, see Fig. 1, in proximity with the respective walls 10 and 11 and within recesses 44 and 45 provided by said casing strips; or the doors may be lii swung outwardly from said walls into the position in which represented in Figs. 2 and 3 to furnish with the room walls and 11 an enclosure for a person using the shower or foot bath. The door 38 has secured to its free edge a batten 46 which serves as stop against which the other door 39 is juxtaposed when the doors .are in their relatively extended positions.

The doors when in their extended or operative positions (Figs. 2 and at) are located over the outermost of the gutters 14 so that water splashed or otherwise delivered upon the doors will drain directly into the gutters. To facilitate the dripping of water from the doors the under side. of each is made somewhat concave to afford dripping edges 47 such as shown in Fig. 4t.

Medially of such edges there is provided for each door a flexible swipe 48 of rubber, preferably, which functions to wipe moisture from the upper surfaces of the sink structure, and cover 26.

-For taking a shower bath, the doors 38 and 39 are arranged as shown in liligs-Q-and 4t, and the occupant may stand eitherin the sink or .upon the cover 26., desired.

For a foot bath one only of the doors 38 and 89 is advantageously used thereby enabling the bather to sit upon a chair or the like located outside of the compartment.

The waste pipe'16 is sufficiently large to readily carry off all water draining thereinto from the sink 12 and the gutters 14. The location of the gutters with respect to the doors and the sink obviate all danger of flooding the room by an overflow or splashing of water.

The construction-and operation of the invention in its preferred embodiment will be understood from the foregoing description. Changes in the specific details of construction and arrangement of parts may be made within the scope of the appended claims without departing from the spirit of me invention or sacrificing its advantages.

What I claim, is,

1. A footbathtub comprising a sink provided with a, drainage opening, a stopper for said opening, a sump communicating with said opening and having an outlet, a water supply for said sink, and a gutter surrounding the sink for carrying the overflow thereof into the sump.

2. A foot-bath tub comprising a sink provided with a drainage opening, a stopper for said opening, a sump communicating with said opening and having an outlet, a water supply pipe extending into said sink, and a gutter surrounding the sink for carrying the overflow thereof into the sump.

3. The combination with a shower sprinkler, of a sink provided with a drainage opening, a removable apertured cover for the sink, said cover serving as a platform for a bather, a sump having an outlet, and

a gutter provided exteriorly of the sink for carrying waste water into saidsump.

The combination with the walls and floor of a room,:a sink provided in said floor, a drainage opening for the sink, a sump communicating with said drainage Opening and having an outlet, a gutter surrounding the sink for conveying waste water to the sump, a removable cover for the sink, an apertured cover for said gutter, the upper surfaces of said cover being in a plane with the floor level, apair of complementary doors hingedly connected to the respective walls and adaptedv to cooperate therewith to affordan enclosure for a bather above the sink, and means tosupply water for bathing within said enclosure.

5. In apparatus as defined in claim t, a

grid provided for said gutters, flexible devices depending fromvthe respective doors for obstructing the, openings between the latter and the grid, said devicesalso serving as swipes for wiping moisture from the sink cover when said devices are moved with the respective doors.

6. In apparatus of the character described, the combination with walls and floor of a room, of :doors hingedly connected to the respective walls so as. to be swung into rectangular relations therewith to provide a bath cabinetwithinthe room, a sink provided in the fioor,.a gutter surrounding the sink, the upper edges of the sink and gutter walls being ina plane with the upper surface of said floor, said gutters being arranged to receive dripping from thesaid doors. 7
