'a citizen of the United States, residing at Tiiiin, in the county of ASeneca and'St-ate of Qhio, have invented a new and useful Golf Club, of which the following is a specification.

This inventionrelates to golf clubs, one

Seated in the outer end portion of the bore'is a'tubular lining 4 of any suitable material .provided at its outer end Wit-h an annular flange or collar 5 adapted to bear against the end of the member. The inner end of the lining is-formed with 1ongitudinal slits 6 whereby said end can be slightly contracted to facilitate insertion of e5 the vlining into the bore so as to allow said lining to fit snugly in position and frictionally engage the wall of the bore.,

What is claimed is 1. The combination with a golfclub having a bore extending into one end thereof, of' a lining within and frictionally engaging the wall of the bore, a closure plug fitting snugly within and frictionally engaging the wall of the lining, means u on the lining and engaging the club for ho ding the lining against longitudinal movement within the bore, means upon the plug and cooperating with .the lining for limiting the inward movement of the closure plug, and a marker carried by said plug and normally housed in the bore.. A

2. The combination with a golf club having a bore extendinginto one end thereof, of a lining within and frictionally engaging the wall of the bore, a closure plug fitting snugly within and frictionally engaging the wall of the lining, means upon one end portion of the lining and bearing against the end of the club for limiting movement of the lining into the bore, means upon one end portion of the plug and cooperating with the end of the lining for limiting the inward movement of the closure plug, and a marker carried by said plug and normally housed in 'the bore.

3. The combination with a golf club having a bore extending into .one end thereof, of a lining within the bore, an expansible plug insertible into the lining 'and constituting a closure for the bore, andexpanding means carried by the plug.

4. rll`he combination with a golf club having a bore extending into one end thereof, of a frictionally retained lining in the bore, an expansible plug insertible into the lining and constituting a closure, and means adjustably mounted in the plug for expandmg it.

5. The combination with a golf club having a bore extending into one end thereof, of a frictionally retained lining in the bore, an expansible plug insertible into the 1ining and constituting a closure, and means adjustably mounted in the plug for expanding it, said means constituting a marker.

6. The combination with a golf club having a b ore extending thereinto, and a score card removably mounted in the bore, of means for retaining the score card comprising a lining within the bore, an ex ansible plug frictionally held within the linlng and constituting a closure, and means for expanding the plug, said means constituting amarker.
