a citizen of the United States, residing at.
Independence, in the county of Jackson and State of Missouri, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in R8dl0' telephone Receiver Blocks, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to a radio telephone receiver block, designed primarily for use in connection with radio receiving .appara tuses, and the invention has for its object to provide, in a manner as hereinafter referred to, a receiving block of such class, with means whereby a plurality of telephone receivers can be connected with a radio reeeiving apparatus for use simultaneously by a plurality of ersons and furthermore, to provide the bloc with means, in a manner as hereinafter referred to, for successively cutting in or placing in circuit with the radio receiving apparatus, telephone receivers without cutting out the telephone receiver or receivers positioned in circuit in advance of the cutting in or closing the circuit for the subsequently connected receivers, or in other words, providing means where one or more telephone receivers can be connected in circuit with a radio recciv-' ing apparatus without inconvenience when a change in the number of telephone-receivers for use is desired.

In either form of radio receiver block as shown, in accordance with this invention, it includes a base formed of any suitable insulation material and such base maybe of any desirable contour, but as, shown is squared and provided with rounded corners. Connected to and projecting upwardly from the base 10, is a pair of primary terminals, as indicated at 14,15 and each' of which is in the form of a binding post coinprising a body portion 16, formed with a transverse opening 17, a verticall dis osed opening 18 which communicated wit the opening 17 and has a threaded wall for engagement by the threaded shank19, of a emdm screw 20. receivers are indicated at 28, 29 and each includes a pair of circuit wire connections 30, 31 formed at the free end with a circuit closing tip 32.
Associated with the telephone receivers, is a series of secondary terminals, two of which are indicated at 33 and the others at 34. The secondary terminals 33 are con- 1' st cted in the same manner as the termin s 14 or 15 and are clearly shown in Fig ure 5. Each of the secondary terminals 34 is in the form of a binding post and comprises a body portion 35 provided with a pair of transverselyhextending superposed openings 36, 37. e body portion 35 is f rthermore provided with. an opening 38 isposed at right angles with respect to and communicating with the opening 37. The wall of the opening 38 is threaded and with which engages the threaded stem 39 of a binding screw 40. The body portion 35 at its upper end is formed with a vertically isfiosed opening '41 which communicates wit the opening 36 and hasathreaded wall, and en ging with the said wall is the threaded stem 42 of a binding screw 43. The body portion '35 is furthermore provided at its lowerend with a socket 44, having the wall thereof threaded and engaging with said wall is a threaded stem 45 of av binding screw 46. Carried by the binding screw 46 is a pair of disks 47, 48. Each of the secondary terminals 34, as stated, is provided with the pair of bind ing screws 40, 43 and which are employed for connectin a pair of contact tips 32 of a pair of telep one receivers with a terminal 34, as shown in Figures 1 and 4. The terminals 33 of the secondary terminal are employed for connecting but one telephone receiver tip 32 therewith, and the binding screw for such purpose is indicated at 49 and the other binding screw of each terminal 33 is indicated at 50.
The bindin screws 46 of the terminals 34 are not on y em loyed for securing circuit connections wit 1 said terminals, but are further employed for fixedly securing the terminals 34 to the base 10, and for such purpose the screws 46 extend up through openings 51 formed inthe base and engage-in the bed portions 35. The bind ing screw 0 each terminal 33 of the secondary terminals is employed for the same (purpose as the binding screw 46 and exten 5 up through an o enmg-51.
The base 10 has seen therewith a series of contacts 52 and the said contacts associate withthe terminals 34 and one of the terminals 33. Each of .the contacts 52 includes a head formed with a shank 53 which extends through the opening 54 formed in the base 10 and has a threaded lower portion 55 carrying a pair of securing nuts 56. The contacts 52 are spaced from the terminals 34 and that lel'llllllill 33 0f the secondary terminals, and extending from the shank 53 of each contact to a binding screw 46 of each terminal 34 and to the binding screw 50 of the terminal 33 is a circuit connection 57. The other terminal 33 of the secondary terminals is connected to the terminal 14 by a circuit connection 58.
Rotatably mounted in the base 10, centrally thereof, is a vertically disposed shaft 59, provided at its upper end with a cap member of insulation. The shaft 59 extends into the recess 11 and has connected therewith by the securin device 61, a circuit connection 62, whic is connected to the lower end of the terminal 15. Secured to the shaft 59 so that it will be carried therewith, when the shaft 59 is shifted, is a circuit openin and closing member 63, having a depen ing outer end 64, for enement with the contacts 52.
e member 63 is employed for selectively engaging with the contacts 52 for the purpose of closing the circuit to the receivers.
In Figure 1 of the drawings the c0ntacts are indicated at A, B, C, D, E and F, for the purpose of clearly setting forth the closing of the circuits with respect to the telephone receive-rs. It will be assumed that the member 63 has been shifted to engagement with the contact A which would close the circuit to the receiver 29, through conductor 27, circuit connection 62, shaft 59, member 63, contact A, circuit connection 57, the secondary terminal connected with the contact A, receiver 29, secondary 7 terminal arranged opposite the terminal 14,
circuit connection 58 and conductor 26.

Referring to Figures 6 and 7 of the drawings, the base is indicated at 65 and the re cess or pocket in its lower face at 66. Connected to the base 65 is a pair of primary terminals 67, 68, to which are secured respectively the conductors 69, 70, which are in circuit with theradio'receiving set. Secured to the base 65 is a series of secondary terminals 71, 72, 73, 74, 75, 76, 77, 78, 79, 80, 81 and 82. Secured to the base 65 is a series of contacts 83, 84, 85, 86, 87 and 88. Rotatably connected to the base, centrally thereof, is a shaft 89 provided with a circuit opening and closing member 90.

From the foregoing construction of radio telephone receiver block a device is set up whereby telephone receivers can be 5m cessively cut in with a radio receiving set,
already cut in, and which operation is had withoutan inconvenience whatsoever, and
