This invention relates to means for sup, porting rotaryr beams, as tliewarp beam in has for itsfobjeet to provide a beam-supporting means which can be quickly and easily yadjusted bothpup .and down tochange the elevation ofthe beam or laterally (i.e.',I longitudinally of the axis of the beam)- so as to accommodate beams varying in Width, and which shall afford a strong and vrrigid support for thebeam.

In the following description, only one end of the beam 'beingsh'own in the drawin only one ofthe support-ing means is re erred to, it being understood that vsaid supporting meansv will lusually be duplicated in practice, there being one for each end of the beam.

Each side of the loom frame is provided with a. pivot, *here in the form' of a. long stud e, projectinglaterally and horizontally, being through ahole in said side of the frame and having nuts .f-:to clamp the same. By turning the nut n, nut p being released, the screw 0 can be fed up and down 105 thus to raise or lower arm g and consequently place the beam at any. desired elevation. v y
lA bend is shown at g* in arm g (Fig. 2). This, taken with the fact that the stud 110 may be arranged to project inwardly or outwardly from the side of the loom frame and the two arms g may be changed about, makes it possible to use the improved supporting means to support beams varying from a length which would bring the ends thereof between the sides of the frame to a length which would bring their ends outward ofsaid sides.
The connection o-r also makes it possible for the weaver to quickly lower the supj'io-rting means so as to bring both weights d fl against the floor and so relax thel tension on the warp, as when the loom is left standing over night, and also quickly restore said means to its previous elevation when the weaving is resumed.
The improved supporting means also adapts the loom to be quickly converted for operation either with or without the usual whip-roll s being used to support the warp:
So far as lateral adjustment is concerned my invention comprehends broadly a beam supporting means including two arms, as g and m, one of which is substantially horizontally shittable, and the other of which is pivotally movable on a substantially vertical axis, on a. fixed structure, as a-e, and a pivotal coupling (of any kind) having its axis substantially .vertical and connecting portions of the arms remote from said structure and shiftable along one arm.
Having thus fully described my invention what l claim is:
l. ln combination, a fixed struc-ture and a beam-supporting means including' two arms one of which is substantially horizontally shiftable, and the other of which is pivotally movable on aI substantially vertical axis, on said structure, and a pivotal .coupling having its axis substantially vertical and connecting. portions of said arms remote from said structure and shiftable lengthwise of one arm.

In combination, a fixed structure and a beam-supporting means including two arms one of which is substantially horizon- .tally shiftable, and the other ot which is Langeac tively to the other up and down, and a connection connecting portions of said arms remote from said structure and comprising pivotally connected parts one of which is shiftable along one arm and the other turnable on asubstantially vertical axis in the other arm.
4. In combination, a. xed structure and a beam-supporting means including two arms one of which is substantially horizontally. shiftable, and the other of which is pivotally movable on a sul'istantially vertical axis, on said structure` and means, pivctally connecting the two arms in their various positions and having its pivot substantially vertical, 'for securing them in rigid relation to each other.
In combinationya fixed structure and a beam-supporting means including two arms one of which is substantially horizontally shiftable, and the other of which is pivotallv movable on a substantially vertical axis, on said structure, means, shiftable along and held against turning relatively to one. arm but turnable in the other arm on a substantiallyY vertical axis, for connecting the two arms in their various positions, and means to sec-ure the first-named means against movement with respect to one of the' arms.
6. .ln combination, a fixed structure and a beam-supporting means including vtwo arms one of which' is substantially horizontallyl shiftable,"and the other.. of which is pivotally movable on a substantially vertical axis` on said structure, one of said arms being also pivot-ally shift-able relatively to the other up and down, and means, pivotally connecting the'two arms in their various positions, and having its axis substantially vertical, for adjusting the up-anddown shiftable arm to different elevations.
7. In combination, a fixed structure and a beam-sup-porting meansv includingtwo arms 'one of which is substantially horizontally shiftable, and the other of which is pivot-ally movableon a substantially vertical. axis. on said structure, one of said arms being also pivotally shiftable relatively to the other up and down, andmeans pivotally connecting the two arms in their various positions and including a vertical screw arranged in one arm and a nut on the screw bearing against 'the latter arm, for adjusting the lip-.and-down shift-able arm to different elevations.
