Be ,it known-that I, HENRY HALL MAR- SHALL, Jr., a citizen of theUnited States, residing at Garden City, in the county of Nassau, Long Island, State of New York,
have invented a new and useful Improvement in Cigarettes; and I do hereby declare the following tobe' a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will en- 1 able others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and usethe same.
This invention relates to new and useful improvements in cigarettes-and particularly to the tip of the cigarette, or that end which is laced between the lips.'

My composition consists of'a flavoring extract mixed in a base such as gelatin. The
