Be it known that I, MATHEW B. MORGAN, a citizen of the United States, residing at Cleveland Heights, in the county of Cuya' hoga and State of Ohio, have invented a certain new and useful Improvement in Track -The invention consists'l in the construction and combination of parts 'shown in the drawing and hereinafter described and pointed out denitely in the appended claims.

The .track links A are indicatedby 20, and those which form parts `of links B are indicated by 20, and the two track members 20 employed on an A link may be exactly alike; andso may the two track members 20EL of each B link.
The track members employed in the con-- struction of both types of links are drawn down from a flat sheet metal blank into the form or" a cup whose depth is substantially equal to one half the width of the shoe. Each of these cup-shaped members has a closed end 2l and two substantially parallel straight sides 22, 23, which become respectively kthe top and bottom of the track member when it is secured upon the shoe.
These top and bottom members 22, 23, which are parts O both the A and B links are connected at both ends by two integral straps, the combined widthv of which equals the width of the track member from the closed to the open end thereof.
The differences between the two links A and B are produced by the differences in the construction and arrangement of these strap members which vform parts of.

The width of the U-shaped straps 24 on each track member 2O is the same as that of the reversely curved straps 2 5* on each track member 20. Likewise the width of the U-shaped straps 24 on track members 20EL is the same as the width of the reversely curved straps 25 on the track members 20. On the track members 20 associated with the A links, the U-shaped straps 24 are adjacent the open sides of the members and the reversely curved straps 25 are adjacent the closed sides of said members. But on the track members 20 associated with the in contact along the longitudinal central line of the shoe. To produce one of the B links two track members 2()a `are secured to the shoe with their closed ends in contact along the longitudinal 'central line of said shoe.
To connect an A and a B link together in the process of producing a track Cbelt, the
U-shaped straps 24a on the B link are inserted between the two U-shaped straps 24 which are parts of the A link. The outer surface of the straps 24a fit against the outer surfaces of the reversely bent straps 25 on link. A; and likewise the outer surfaces of the straps 24 engage with and lit the reversely curved straps 25a on the B link. When the parts are in this position the pintle pin is passed through the eye formed by the U-shaped straps 24 located near the edges of the A links and the U-shaped straps 24 forming parts of the Blink and located at the center thereof. These pintle pins also pass through and fit in holes 29 which are formed inthe closed ends of the cup-shaped track members 20.
The middle parts of the top members 23 of the pivoted together links are in the same plane and serve as tracks to su port the track wheels of the tractor, which o course are not shown in the drawing. This central track surface on all of the links is depressed slightly below those parts of the top members 21 which areadjacent the sides of the link.
The track belt as shown is especially intended for u se in connection with double sprocket wheeels, that is to say, sprocket wheels each havingtwo se arated sprocket teeth carrying disks. In or er that the teeth of these sprockets may enga e 'the pins and thereby drive an endless tra belt made of the described links slots 30 are formed through the tops of the track members, and
are continued into the strap loops as far` as necessary, substantially as shown.
Having described my invention I claim;
1. A track belt unit comprising two similar cup-shaped members having horizontal top and bottom portions placed side by side and secured together, the adjacent inner portions of said horizontal top portions'being in alower horizontal tions thereof formm a longitudinal roller -guideway centrally o said unit.
2. A track belt'unit comprising twovsimilar cup-shaped members having horizontal top and bottom portions placed side by side and closed ends secured together, said horizontal top portions being formed to abut ongitudinal roller plane than the outer porgral bearing surface centrall l of said unit, and a shoe on which said mem ers are secured.
3. A track belt unit comprising two cupshaped members which are closed at one side and o en at the other side ,and have substantial y`horizontal vto and bottom portions, said `two members eing secured together with their closed ends in c ontact, and a shoe to which said members are secured.
4. A track belt unit comprising two similar track units placed side by side, in contact, and secured together to form one part of a link structure, each of said track members having a top and bottom ortion the said to and bottom portions at oth ends of the lin being connected by portions which have outwardly bent U-shaped surfaces and by portions which have reversely curved surfaces.
5. A track belt unit comprising two similar track units placed side by side, in contact, and secured together to form one part of a link structure, each of said track membersA having a top and bottom portion, the said V top and bottom portions at both ends of the link being connected by portions which have outwardly bent U-shaped surfaces and by ortions which have reversely curved suraces, and a pintle pin assing through the eye formed b the over apping ends of the U-sha ed sur aces on adjacent members. l 6. track belt comprisin a plurality of pivoted together links, eac comprising a shoe, and two at cu -shaped track members which are secure upon said shoe with their closed ends in substantial contact along the lontgitudinal central line of said shoe, v

9. A track belt comprising a pluralityof pivoted together links, eac comprising a shoe, and two flat cup-shaped track members which are secured upon said shoe with their` closed ends in substantial contact along the longitudinal central line of said shoe each of said track members having substantially lcurved strap on thenext link, and pintle pins which go through the eyes formed by the overlapping outwardly bent strap loops on contiguous links, said track members being formed with narrow slots through them to permit the passage of sprocket teeth into engagement with said pintle pins.
10. A- track belt unit comprising two cup shaped members which are c osed at one side vand open at the other side and are secured to ether with their closed ends in contact, sald members having substantially horizontal top and bottom rtions which abut each other, the horizonte to a continuous longitu surface.
