JOHN WOTHERSPOON BURT, 0F GLASGOW, SCOTLAND.
WRINGING MACHINE.
Application filed April 9, 1923. Serial No. 630,835.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that we, JOSEPH SMITH BURT, THOMAS WoTHERsrooN BURT, GEORGE PETER BURT, and JOHN VVo'rrinnsrooN BURT, subjects of the King of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, and residing at Mile-End, Glasgow, Scotland, have invented a certain new and useful Improvement in lVringing Machines, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to wringing machines in which the brackets for supporting the machine frame are adapted to swivel relatively to the machine frame.
The invention consists in a wringing machine in which the brackets are each formed with a single clamp attachable to the machine frame for swivelling movement with the clamps in either of two positions at right angles to one another.
According to a preferred'construction the wringing machine is provided with brackets each having a single clamp and each provided with two sockets the axes of which are disposed at right angles to one another, the sockets being engageable with a stud on the machine frame. Fitted to each bracket is a locking pin which is common to both sockets and is adapted for engagement with a groove on the stud which merges into a flat on the cylindrical surface of the stud, the arrangement being such that the socket may be slid on to the stud with the locking pin rubbing the flat and then rotated so as to bring the pin into engagement with the groove.
The invention is illustrated in the accompanying drawing in which Fig. 1 is an elevation showing a bracket with the clamps in position for engagement with a vertical support, Fig. 2 is an elevation showlng the clamp in position for engagement with a horizontal support and Fig. 3 is a' section showing the locking pin about to enter the groove.
The bracket shown has a single clamp l and is provided with two sockets 3, 4 the axes of which are disposed at right angles with an annular groove 7 "on the stud 5, whlch groove merges into a flat 8 on the cylindrical surface of the stud, the arrange ment being such that a socket may be slid on to the stud 5 with the locking pin 6 rubsockets 3, 4 and is adapted for engagement bing on the flat 8 and the bracket the-n ro- 1 tated so as to bring the pin into engagement with the groove 7.
What we claim is 1. In a wringing machine the combination wlth a frame havlng a stud, of a clamp bracket having two sockets in either of which said stud has a sliding fit so that; I
said stud may be removably entered into said bracket in either a vertical or horizontal position, and a pin for locking said bracket to said stud when the clamp is in working.
position.
2. In a wringing machine, the combination with a frame having a stud formed with a groove and a flat, of a bracket provided with two sockets'having theiraxes at right angles to one another, said sockets engageable with said stud, and a locking p111 engageable with the groove, whereby the bracket may he slid on to the stud with the looking pin rubbing on the flat and then rotated to bring the locking pin into engagement with the groove.
In testimony whereof we have signed our names to this specification in the presence of
