IMPROVEMENT IN PAINT COMPOUNDS.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 149,145. dated March 31, 1574; application .filed December 22, 1873.
preferable. To paint iron or metal surfaces,
mineral oil may be used, and animal oil when desirable.
This compound will be found to possess antiseptic properties to a degree far exceeding the paints heretofore in use. It may be colored any desired shade with the usual pigments. A very fair steel-gray will be produced of plumbago and oil alone.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
A paint composed of plumbago, vegetable, mineral, or animal oil, and with or without blacks, in about the proportions specified.
