G. R. Z. BAZAN LOADER FOR REVOLVERS Filed Nov. 6, 1923 g f I INVENT R. I
surname aonmeunz ZAYAS or meson, our;
LOADER F015 REVOLV- Appllcation filed November 8, 1923. Serial No. 678,193.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, GUILLERMO RODRIGUEZ 'ZAYAs BAZAN, a citizen of the Republic of Cuba, and resident of Moron, Province of Camaguey, Cuba, have invented certam new and useful Improvements in a Loader for Revolvers, of which the following is a specification. v
This invention relates to the operation of Toadin the revolvers'and its ob ect is to provi e a loader for effecting the-loading operation of all the bullets required at the same time. It is known that heretofore, when all the bullets in a revolver had been shot, to reload same is necessary to insert the bullets individually one at a time, which constitutes a very slow operation and keeps the user helpless during the time he is loading the arm. This invention does away with this serious disadvantage, by providing a device which in a simple manner supplies in a moment all the bullets required for loading the arm. The invention is described with reference to the figures of the annexed drawing, in
which:
Fig.1 isa perspective view of the loader loaded with the revolver bullets.
Fig. 2 is an upper lan view of the same. Fig. 3 is a diametral vertical section on line 33 of Fig. 2.
Fig. 4 is an upper plan view of the loader, with the lid and securingnut taken off.
Fig. 5 is a horizontal section on line 5-5 of Fig. 3, in the position in which are secured the revolver bullets. Fig. 6 is a view similar to that of Fig. 5 showing the bullets loose.
Fig. 7 is a detail showing a perspective view of one of the sectors which hold the revolver bullets.
And Fig. 8 is a detail showing looking from above. the washer which actuates the holding sectors of the bullets.
This loader comprises a main cylindrical bod 1 closed at its upper and lower bases, w 'ch bases are provided with a plurality of circular openings 2 and 2 respectively arranged in a circle andwhich cor respond vertically to one another for admitting freely therethrough the bullets '3 in number, and position corresponding exactly with the holes of the chamber bearing the bullets of the revolver to which the loader. is to be adapted. The upper base of the cylindrical body 1' has at its upper face a cn-cular recess 4.- and a projecting rin and through its solid portion a central ole 13 and a plurality of grooves or channels in radial direction corresponding to the circular openings 2, and the lower base of said cylindrical bod 1 has at its center a projection 15 whie serves as a guide for the chamber or barrel of the revolver when presenting the loader before it.
Inside the circular recess 4 of body' 1'.
and over the radial grooves 14 of body 1 move freely sectors 5- (Fig. 7) which as shown in Fig. 6 are radially arranged and each sector 5 presents on its upper face a radial rib 16 threaded on its upper face with s iral threads 16 of 45 and at its lower ace each sector 5 has a rib 17 which is also radial and of smooth faces which fits and slides inside each channel or groove 14 of the upper base of body 1.
On sectors 5 is mounted a washer 6 which has its lower face threaded at 16 with a left thread of 45 as sector 5, and this washer fits around a stem or vertical central shaft 11 which is threaded at its upper and lower ends. The lower end screwing in the central threaded hole 13 of the upper base of body 1, and said stem 11 presents from above to below to a third of its length a diametral slot 18. Washer 6 is arranged on sectors 5 so that the threads of the first mesh with the threads of the latter tending to approach or separate the same from each other, according to the directionof turn of the washer.
(Fig. 4) which has its inner end bent in diametral straight line forming a pin 8' which passes through the base of the slot 18 of stem lland the outer end of-said spring is of hook, shape 8" for embracing a vertical pin 19 projectin from the upper face of washer 6 near the e ge thereof. This spring has the tension alwaysto the rightso as to maintain ready for opening the sectors to the bullets, keeping the former in contact with the latter.
On the coil spring is arranged a lid in form of plate 9 slightly concave downwards and with an upper handle in cylindrical form with a corrugated crown 9', .the late 9 having at its central horizontal port on a hole 20 for receivin the pin 19 of washer 6, and the cylindrical body of the latter from slipping up and becoming separated from the sectors and getting out of mesh with the same.
details of construction of the loader can be changed without altering the spirit of essential character of the invention, which is as set forth in the appended claims.
What I claim is l. A loader forrevolvers comprising a main body having enlarged bullet receiving holes, slidable means'for frictionally securing the bullets in said holes, and rotary Overlid 9 is screwed on thestem 11 thelmeans for controlling and adjusting the slidnut which always keeps lid 8 in position.-
For loading this loader, nut 10 and'lid' 9 are taken out and by pushing pin 19' to.
ing means. d
- 2. A loader for revolvers comprising a main body having'enlarged bullet receivthe right the washer 6 is caused to turn so ing holes, slidable means, radially movable that the same may draw the sectors 5 to the center (Fig'. 6) and then the bullets 3 are introduced inthe openings 2 and 2' sothat the disc of the-percussion cap remains above the projecting ring 4 of the upper base of body v1; then pin 19 is pushed to the left for putting-in tension the coil spring 8 for tightening as much as possible the arched edge of sectors 5 laterally against the lateral surface of bullets?) beneath the discs 3 of thesame, and in these conditions-is placed the lid 9 so that the hole 20 may fit on pin 19 and nut 10 is screwed on stem 11 tightening the lid'9. I I
For using the loader,'the same is placed against the chamber, of the revolverso that the projection 15 of the loader may act as central guide, introducing the bullets 3 in the holes of the chamber of the revo'lver and turning slightly to theright the lid 9, the washer 9, on turning with the lid, will bring back the sectors 9 to the center thus leaving free the bullets 3 which by their own weight fall into theholes. of the revolver-chamber.
It is obvious that the loaders can be made ofdifi'erent sizes according to the caliber of the bullets of the. revolver-and also the mea'ns for frictionally receiving the bullets in said holes, and rotary spring means actuatedto ,control the radially movable means.
3. A loader for revolvers comprising a main body haying enlarged bullet receiving holes, and also provided with radial guide grooves, slidable means on said guide grooves for frictionally holding the bullets insaid holes and rotary spring means actuated to control the radially slidable means.
4;. A loader for" revolvers, comprising a main body having enlarged bullet receiving holes and also having a plurality of radially arranged guide grooves correspond ing in number with said holes and slidable members in said grooves each with a radial rib having a spirally threaded face, said,
slidable members, being arranged for frictionally holding the bullets in said holes,
and a spring actuated revoluble member
