A folding box, comprising a bottom adapted to fold outwardly on a horizontal line, ends foldably connected with opposing edges of the bottom, a cover foldably connectedto one of the ends, sides connected ,to the ends and with their marginal edges free of connection with the bottom, said sides being adapted to fold inwardly on vertical lines and having upper and lower flange ortions foldable relative to the sides to ear upon the bottom and also support the cover, and strings looped'through the bottom flanges of the sides and through the bottom, said strings being operable to position the sides and bottom flanges thereof relative to the box bottom in box forming relation and being of a length to permit their extended portions after operation to be `used as a tie for the box.

6. A folding box, comprising a rectangular blank scored to fold to present the ends, bottom, and top of the box, said bottom being scored transverse the blank to permit independent folding of the bottom, and duplicate blanks forming sides and each havlng an extension to form a bottom flap for -the sides, said bottom flaps having extensions to permit the sides to be secured to the rectangular blank, the sides proper having extensions to interlock with the box end forming. portions of the rectangular blank, said` sides being scored for folding transverse their lengths. l
