and provision is made for the use of a small. belt to attach the flag pole in pos1t1on when the party Wishing to use the flag holder requires it only temporarily.
The nature and advantages of the invention will be better understood when the following detailed description is read in connection with the accompanying drawings, the invention residing in the construction, combination, and arrangement of parts as claimed.
In the drawings Figure 1is a side elevation of a flag pole constructed in accordance with the invention, and capableof three different positions of adjustment.
Figure 2-is a plan view.
Figure 3-is a section on the line 33 of Figure 1.
Figure 4is'a plan view of a joined member or strap for fastening the flag holder to a tree or column.- I
Figure 5is a section on the line 5-5 of Fig. 4.
Figure 6-is a detail plan view of another form of flag holder.
Figure 7-is a perspective view of still another form of flag holder. 7
Referring to the drawings, and more particularly to Figures 1, 2 and 3, there is shown a plate 1 of rounded cross section,
with an offset side portion 2, and also with a yoke 3 fast to said plate 1, and straddling another plate 4.
The yoke 3 rises above the plate 4 and is member to rip a flag plates 1 an 4, and hold theseparts firmly' in position to sustain theflagmounted on f portion 2 has traversed by a set screw 5 which has a head (S at its upper end. The-screwftgextends.
through the. yoke 3,. and is swive'lled" in'a boar-7 'on plate '4. The ends ofthe plate 1 have yokes 8 overhanging the plate 4, so that the plate'4- may constitute a clamp pole 9, between the the flag pole. The offset side a socket 10formed' therein. 3
The socket 10 is-threaded and receives a thumb screw 12, adapted to enter any one of a series of sockets 11 on a bracket plate 11". The thumb screw 12 serves the purpose of positioning the flat pole holding means withgrespect to any one of the sockets 11,
so as to hold the flag pole'either longitudinally, or transversely or at an. intermediate position, this permitting different settings of the flag pole holder, in accordance with the desires of the user, whether the flag pole be attached to a building, or to an autofl.
The bracket plate- 11 shown in Figure 6 is designed more, particularly for use on the side of a house or may be otherwise used as conditions warrant, said plate being pro.-
videdwith sockets 11 and 19 corresponding to those of thebracket in Figures 4 and 5.
The structure shown in Figure 7 shows Y window, especially where the party using the flag holder lives in an upper story, the flag holder including a bracket plate 14 with an expanded head 15, having a central socket ,16 and surrounding sockets 17, the latter being arranged around a common. axis represented by the socket 165.
In the structure shown in Figures 1, 2
and 3, the plate 1 is provided with a pintle 18, adapted to enter a socket 19 central to the sockets 11, to permit circular adjustment of the yoke 3 as desired.
All of the setting forthe-fiag aremade for three way display'of the flag.
Having thus described iny inVentiOnQWha t 'I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters-Patent is: V o I y In a flag holder, the cembi'n'ation' of -a bracket plate having atone side a series of, sockets arranged in the arc of a circle and also having a socket in the center of said circle, a plate of channel formin cross sec tion, having a central yoke andendi yokes and also having an ofiset side portion in substantial parallelism with the bracket i plate, a pintle carried by said channel plate and disposed'in the central sOCkfi 0f the bracket plate, "a screwthr'eadedthroiigh the 'ofiset side portion of the channel plate and 15' Ladaptedto betremovab-ly arranged in one of the sockets of the arcuate series; a screw threaded through, the central yoke of the channel plate, and a clamping plate connected in swix elledinianner to. the screw and an
