UNITED STATES WILLIAM muesli,- OF JOHNSON CITY, NEW YORK.
COMBINATION NONSHUDGING CIGAR AND CIGARETTE ASH RECEIVER AND TAIBLE.
Application filed October 10, 1921. A Serial No. 508,854.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known thatI, WILLIAM H. MACK,
new and useful Improvements in Combina-' tion Nonsmudgin igar and Cigarette Ash Receivers and Ta les, of which the followin is a specification.
iiy invention relates to improvements in combination portable non-smudging cigar ash receivers and tables and it has for its object to provide a compact easil constructed device wherein the smudging rom burned tobacco is eliminated and a cigar ash receiver combined with an adjustable table top is presented for holding papers, books, cigars or other desired articles. With these objects in view my invention consists of certain novel features of construction and arrangements of parts as will be hereinafter more fully described and pointed out in the claims, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, in which Fig. 1 is a side elevation of my improved device,
Fig. 2 is a side elevation partly in crosssection of a fragmentary part of. my device,
Fig. 3 is a plan view of my device,
Fig. 4 is a side view of a detailed part of my? device,
ig. 5 is a side view of a modified form of a detailed part of my device.
The same reference characters denote like parts in each of the several figures of the drawing.
In carrying out In invention, I provide a hollow rectangular ase portion A, the interior of which, if desired, may be lined with metal or some other non-inflammable material. The base may be provided with rollers or casters 2 to insure portability. In the top of the base A, I have mounted the vertical tubular standard B and at the top thereof, I have the open funnel shaped mouth or receiver C, which may be integral with the standard B, or removablysecured thereto in any suitable manner. Mounted on the upper edge of the funnel C, I have the horizontal curved cigar holders 3 and on one side of themouth O, I have the receiver 4 of any convenient form for removably holding a match box or the like.
Mounted or suspended from the outer edge of the mouth or funnel O and in alinement with its outer surface, I have the bent spring ton es 5 adapted to serve as spring cips to ho d papers or other objects. Adustably mounted around the tubular standard B, I have the band or collar 6 adapted to slide upon the standard B and to be held in adjusted positions by means of the set screw 6.
Slidably mounted on the standard B and preferably supported b the collar 6, I have the table top or shelf preferably circular in form but it ma be in rectangular contour if desired. A out the edge of the table top D, I have a raised rim-or guard 7 and also on the edge of the top I have mounted a pair or pairs of vertical supports 8 adapted to receive and hold newspapers or other objects. On the upper edge surface of the table D, I may also provide spring clips 8 adapted to hold objects in suspension.
Within the base A, I have the sliding drawer 9 within which may be placed a receptacle or pan 10 for holding water or liquid or the like and adapted to receive the ashes or burning cigar stumps which pass down within the standard B with the object of preventing smudging from the same. The pan 10 may be made integral with the drawer 9 or removably mounted therein.
Ihe table top or shelf D is adapted to be raised or lowered to any convenient height or position by loosening and tightening the set screw 6 and raising or lowering the band 6 on which the top D rests as has been previously pointed out. The top is adapted to hold cards, glasses, or other articles convenient for users of the receiver or for advertising or display purposes.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new and for which I desire Letters Patent is as follows 1. In a combination portable non-smudging cigar ash receiver and table top, a base mounted on rollers, and havin a removable 'ash receiver therein, a tubu ar standard mounted thereon, having on its upper end a funnel shaped mouth, a plurality of cigar supporters and a match box receiver thereon, and spring grip means for holding papers mounted on the exterior thereof, a table top adjustably and slidably mounted on the standard, spring grips mounted thereon for holding papers or other ommodities in suspen'sion.
2. In a combination portable non-smudging ash receiver and table top, a portable base, a removable drawer therein adapted to contain a receptacle for liquid or other subtop slidably and adjustably mounted on the stance to receive ashes, a vertical tubular standard, said table top being provided standard mounted on the base and having at with a raised rim and supporting clips 10 its upper end, an enlarged funnel shaped mounted on the table adjacent the rim. mouth, means for holding cigars on the In testimony whereof I have aflixed my mouth sui-face,'resilient clips on the standsignature.
ard for holding papers in suspension, a table WM. H. MACK.
