Application m October 7, 1922. sew-m1 No. 593,131.
To all whom it may concern."
Be it known that I, CHARLES H. JARVIS, a citizen of the United States, residing at Battle Creek, county of Calhoun, Stateof Michigan, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Display Baskets or Receptacles, of which the following is a specification.
' This invention relates to improvements in display baskets or receptacles.
The main object of the invention i to provide an improved display basket or re, ceptacle for the use of merchants which is effective for display purposes and is at- The objects of the invention are accomplished by the devices and means described in the following specification.v The invention is clearly defined and pointed out in the claims.
A structure which is a preferred embodi-- ment of the invention is clearly illustrated in the accompanying drawing, forming a part of this application, in which:
The figure is a perspective view of my improved display receptacle or basket.
I have illustrated in the accompanying drawing a form or embodiment of my inventionwhich has proved highly satisfactory on the market.
The basket illustrated is formed entirely of metal, the side and bottom slats 1 and 2 outer sides of the slats, the hoo being formed integrally of wire, the hoops 3, 4 and 5 being of .wire or rods, the hoops being disposed on the outer side of the slats and secured thereto by electric welding. A center disk 6 is provided which is also of metal, the ends of the bottom slats being welded on the under side thereof. The bottom hoops 3, 4 and 5 are disposed on the 3 being disposed on the bottom slats ad acent the angles of the lats, the hoo 5 being disposed at the upper end of t e slats, while the hoop 4.- is disposed in an intermediate position.
I provide three leg members each formed of heavy wire or rod folded upon itself and conformed to an A-sh pe, p ovlding l g appearance.
7 and downwardly diverging brace 8 The bight ends of the leg members are bent laterally, providing feet 9, the apexes of the leg members being secured to the bottom hoo '3 by welding thereto;
T e braces 8 are crossed with those of adjacent leg members and welded together at hopp members of the legs.
iththis-arrangement the parts are secured and form a very rigid structure and at thelsameftime the leg member may be formedof comparatively light material and the structure is graceful and attractive in Havingthus described my invention, what I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is:
1. In a display stand, the combination of a metal basket comprising angled slats and a bottom hoop welded on the outer side thereof adjacent the angles, and A-shaped leg members formed of rods folded upon themselves providing legs and downwardly diverging braces therefor, the apexes of said leg members being welded to said bottom hoop, thebight portions thereof being turned laterally providing feet, the braces of adjacentleg members being crossed and welded together at their crossing points, their ends being welded to the side members of adjacent legs.
2. In a display stand, the combination of a metal basket comprising angled slats and a bottom hoop welded on the outer side thereof adjacent the angles, and A-shaped leg members formed of rods folded upon themselves providing legs and downwardly diverging braces therefor, the apexes of said leg members being welded to said bottom hoop, the braces of adjacent leg members being crossed and welded together at their crossing points, their ends being welded to the side members of adjacent legs.
3. In a display stand," the combination of a metal basket comprising a bottom hoop, and A-shaped leg members formed of rods folded upon themselves providing legs and downwardly diverging braces therefor, the apexes of said leg members being secured to said bottom hoop, the bight portions thereof being turned laterally roviding feet, the braces of adjacent leg members beapexes of said leg members being secured ing secured to' the side members of the legs. to said bottom hoop, the braces of adjacent 4. In a display stand, the combination of leg members being secured to the side mem- 10 a metal basket comprising a bottom hoop, bers of the legs. 5 d A-shaped l members f d f d In witness whereof, I have hereunto set folded upon themselves providing legs and y hand and Sealdo'wnwardly diverging braces therefor, the CHARLES H. JARVIS. [L.s.]
