To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that Tlvlonins C. Hons, a citizen of the United States, residing at Mo- Kittrick, in the county of" Kern and State of California, have invented a new and useful Pumping Jack, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to pumping-jacks for well pumps and is particularlydirected to a type of pumping-jack especially adapted for use in connection with oil wells.
One of the best known types of pumpingjack which is universally referred to as the Oklahoma jack, comprises a substantially horizontally positioned top beam which is pivoted at its rear end to a supporting structure with its free or forward end connected to the polish or pump rod, a pivoted trian gular rock-frame having a vertical arm to which the power cable is attached to .rock said frame and a forwardlyextending arm, and a push rodbetween the forwardly extending arm of said frame and the free end of the top beam, whereby the horizontal pull of the power cable is converted to an arcuate movement of the free end of the top beam in a morcor less general vertical direction.

It is anobject of the present invention to provide a pumping-jack by which the horizontal pull or reciprocation of the power cableis converted into a true vertical movement and applied to the pump rod, whereby side thrust of the pump rod is eliminated.
Another object is to provide a pumpin jack structure which is exceedingly simple, durable and efficient, and which can be easily and quickly applied to the pump mecha nism, or removed therefrom to afford easy access to said mechanism.
A further objectisto provide a pumpingjack in which it is possible to incorporate,
certain standard parts of the well known Oklahoma jack.

Rearwardly of the. casing-head 2 are spaced sill blocks 5 to which are secured stationary pivot connections or bearing plates 6 to receive thetrunnions; 7' of a triangular rock-frame 8.. The rock-frame 8 has a vertical arm connecting with the terminal fit ting 9 of a power cable, and a forwardly extending horizontal rocking arm 10 which is provided with a pivot block 11. This frame as illustrated, is of the standard Oklahoma type, but in so far as the broad aspect of the invention is concerned, it may be of'other specific construction suitable for the purpose.

In a pumping-jack for operating a well pump, a stationary pivot connectionfa pump operating rock-frame pivotally engaging said connection, a guideframe hinged to swing from its'positio'nof use and'having vertically spaced. bearings, a guide rod mounted to slide substantially vertically in said bearings, a connectingrod pivotally engaging the rock-frame and the lower end of the guide rod, and means clamped to the guide rod between said bearings and adapted to engage the pump rod.
