Description

BRUNO DONATE, OF IBERLN, GERMANY.

JACKETED 'VACUUM CONTAENER.

Application led August 9, 1922.

To aZZ whom it may concer/i.'

Be it known that l BRUNO Donare, a citizen of Germany, residing at Berlin, Ger many, have invented certain new and useful improvements in Jacketed Vacuum Containers, of which the following is a speciiication.

My invention refers broadly to jacketed vacuum containers, bottles and the like tor the maintaining of the temperature ot bev erages and other liquid or semi-liquid masses and of other substances housed therein, and the invention particularly refers to a peculiarl formation of the spout or discharging opening ot containers of this kind and it provides means to so arrange and shape the emission or discharging opening that the contents may be emptied without dripping, thereby doing away with the inconvenience caused by the thick rounded outer dispensing` edge of the double walled vacuum containers and the like.

My invention is shown by way ot example upon the accompanying drawing in a Verti cal section, with parts in elevation, oi" the upper portion of a bottle or flask ot the kind referred to.

Referring to the drawing l have designated by l the. jacketed vessel, the neck 2 of which terminates in a curved discharging or pouring-out edge 3. The vessel which may consisto't glass or the like is inserted in a sectional sheet metal container, the main portion 4t ot which may be detachably connected to its neck portion 5 by screw threads or the like, so as to be easily joined and disassembled. The neck portion 5 ends in a conical cap 6 which surrounds the neck portion 2 ot the glass vessel itself at some distance below the edge 3. Upon the neck portion 2 of the vessel a sleeve 7 is secured by means oit' a suitable cement paste, which sleeve is downwardly conically enlarged as shown at 8, while its upper portion extends beyond the outer portion of the thick rounded discharging edge and is then outwardly bent so as to constitute a Jtunnelshaped ring 9, a second interior 'funnel 10 being lioined to the upperiedge of ring 9 and the free lower edge of the funnel 10 resting Serial No. 580,773.

upon the inner portion of the mouth 3 of the glass vessel and thereby producing` a sealing effect at this point, thereby excluding the possibility oi liquid or other impurities entering between the parts thus assembled.

After the bottle l with the cemented sleeve 2' has been inserted in the body portion 4 of the sheet metal casing, and after the neck portion 5 of the said casing has been mounted and threadedly secured to the body portion Il, the rim of the conical extension 6 ot the sheet metal enveloping casing places itself against the conically enlarged sleeve 7 and produces an elastic tightening ot the gap between the parts 6 and 7, so as to eX- clude the possibility oi the entering oi liquid or of other substances through the gap. The funnel shaped extension 9 makes it possible to empty and pour out the contents of the container easily and without dripping.

The sleeve 7 may be made of metal the same as the outer casing 4, 5 but other suitable material may likewise be used; and it is also to be understood that my invention is not restricted to the particular details ot construction and arrangement ot parts herein shown and described, but variations and modiications may be made to suit existing conditions, and without deviating from the spirit of my invention.

I claim:

l. A vacuum receptacle comprising the combination with a double walled glass container and a rounded neck on said container, ot a collar surrounding and extending above said neck and a funnel joined to and depending from the upper circular vrim of said collar, its lower rim resting on the inner halt of said rounded neck.

2. A vacuum receptacle comprising the combination with a double walled glass container and a rounded neck on said container, of a collar surrounding and extending above said neck and engaging the outer half of the rounded upper edge of said neck and a funnel joined to and depending from the upper circular rim of said collar, its lower rim resting on the inner half of said rounded neck.

3. A vacuum receptacle PornnrisiruY th combination with :L double Walled glass con` teiner and a rounded neck on said container, of a collar surrounding and extending above said neck and a :tunnel joined to and depending from the upper Circular rim of said collar, its lower' rim resting-5 on the inner half of said rounded neck, said collar increasing ifm-8,996

in diameter from said neck downwards, :L casing surrounding the body of seid container and a cone-shaped hood claspingly l0 surrounding the lower part of said collar and being attached to said easing.

In testimony whereof I aiiX my signature.

BRUNO DONTH.
