- Our invention consists of a folding pail, composed of an india-rubber or other suitable elastic tube for the body, a metal hoop or band at the top and bottom, a wood, rubber, or other suitable bottom, and brace rods connecting the top and bottom hoops, said rods being jointed to the hoops and jointed together, so that when the pail is to be used, they can be extended to extend the tube, and will hold it in the extended condition; and they can be folded down so as to fold the tube into a small, ilat, compact ypackage for convenience in carrying it in a wagon for use in watering horses and the like.

IMPROVEMENT IN FOLDING PAILS.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 144,893, dated November 25, 1873; application filed May 10, 1573.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that We, ABEILLARD DU CHAT- EAU` and JOHN D. WILLIAMS, of Green Bay, in the county of Brown and State of Wisconsin, have invented a new and Improved Folding Pail, of which the following is a specication:
Our invention consists of a folding pail, composed of an india-rubber or other suitable elastic tube for the body, a metal hoop or band at the top and bottom, a wood, rubber, or other suitable bottom, and brace rods connecting the top and bottom hoops, said rods being jointed to the hoops and jointed together, so that when the pail is to be used, they can be extended to extend the tube, and will hold it in the extended condition; and they can be folded down so as to fold the tube into a small, ilat, compact ypackage for convenience in carrying it in a wagon for use in watering horses and the like. The brace-rods are arranged on the outside of the tube, and connected to the upper hoop by the same connection by which the bail is attached, and so suspend the weight directly from the bail.

A is the tube, of india-rubber or other suitable exible material. B is the top hoop, and C the bottom one. If of metal or rubber, it may be secured by a flange, E, folded up over the hoop and'secured by rivets, or in any other Way by which it can be made watertight. They are jointed to the hoops, at G, and jointed together, at H, by a rule or any similar joint, which will maintain them in the extended condition.
These pails can be constructed as cheap as wooden pails. They will not be affected by atmospheric influences, and will be more durable than wood or tin pails, and will be found very convenient in many cases, on account of the small space they occupy when folded.
Having thus described our invention, we claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent- A folding pail, composed of the india-rubber or other equivalent elastic tube A, hoops B C, rubber, metal, or wood bottom D, and the folding braces F, all substantially as specied.
