This invention relates to shovelsv especiallyl adapted fo'rcremoving the dustfcaused *by l0 cuttingmachines used in coal mines.

In coalmining an electric machine is em-` ployed for providing a-space beneath alarge quantityy of'coal so f that when the coalvis blasted it will drop through this space and thereby' bebroken up. f

i The machine employed for forming this space beneath a quantity of coal to be blasts' ed causes a large quantity of dust which must be removed beforel'the blasting operation takes place. n This dust must be removed prior to the blasting as otherwise itwould form acushion for the blasted coal and the coal would not be broken up but Wouldn merely settle on the cushion of dust; Furthermore this dust must be removed prior to blastingto prevent a fire or coal dust eX-` plosion.
