IMPROVEMENT IN COTTON-GINS.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 144,668, dated November 18, 1873 5 application Iiied August 16, 1873. i
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, NrcHoLAs W. GADDY, of Nichols, in the county of Marion and State of South Carolina, have invented a new and useful Improvement in Cotton-Gins, of which the following is a specification:
My invention is an improvement in the class of gins having auxiliary bars or fingers applied to the ordinary bars or lingers Vbetween which the saws revolve; and the invention consists in the construction and arrangement of parts, as hereinafter described, whereby the said auxiliaries are adapted to be readily attached and detached, and to be shifted or moved toward the saws from time to time, as they wear smooth at the corners, thus exposing T new and sha-rp edges.
Figure l is a sectional elevation of a cottongin with my improvement, and Fig. 2 is a plan View of some of the ordinary bars and some of the auxiliary bars which I attach.
