LAUNDRY-IDENTIVEYING MEANS.
Application le'. December 29, 1921. Serial No; 525,816. d Y' To all whom t may concern:
Be it known that we, GEORGE N. Knorr and PERCY W. KNOTT, citizens of the United States, residing at Philadelphia, in the county of-Philadelphia and State of Pennsylvania, have invented certain new and use ful Improvements in Laundry-Identifying Means, `of whichthe following is a specification.
rIhe herein described device relates to laundry identifying means of such nature and construction as to make it adaptable for use in large or small plants with no extra equipment, and lusing no greater loor space than maintained and no special construction of rooms, bins or shelves.
One of the objectsof the invention is to provide a simple and practical device which can be easily, quickly and eiiiciently used by anyone for the purpose specified.
A further object is to provide an article that is easily manufactured and at a small cost, as well as simple in construction, being pliable, compact and lhaving-no complicated parts to become broken as well as lost. It will be found to be sanitary as the article can readily be cleaned at any time. Easily shipped or transported from' one location to another.
While the foregoing explains the general purpose and objects of the device, other objects and advantages will' be found in the speciications'that follow, in which the novel features, construction and arrangement of the several parts will be brought out de` scriped and claimed.
In the accompanying drawings, forming a part of this specication, and in which corresponding parts are denoted by like designating numerals is illustrated the preferred form of the kembodiments of the invention capable of carrying the same into practical operation, it being understood that the invention is not necessarily limited thereto, as various changes in shape, size and proportions of the several parts may be resorted to without departing from the principle of the invention or sacrificing any of its advantages, in which:-
Figure 1 is a plan of the pliable tag.
- Figure 2 is a plan of the removably attached tag.
Figure 3 is a plan of another method of attachingthe removably attached tag.
To more fully describe the drawings, and to make clear the operation and the purpose of the herein ldescribed devicez-The numeral 1 shows a pliable canvas tag, or like 1,442,224! griirsxreia'r oFFijcE".
pliable tag also maintains an opening 2 by which the devlice can be hung if y necessary or desired; other openings 3 are provided in order to afford additional uses as shown by 4. A small tag 6 to which is Secured a removably attached securing means `5 is provided, which in the present consists of a pronged gripping member which can be sprung open in order to removably secure the same in one of the openings 4. It can be understood that the method as shown by 5 can readily be used, that is 'by slipping a piece of twine through 6 in the small tag and 4 in the pliable member l and then slipping it over the small tag. On the pliable member 1 and the smaller tag which can be constructed of such material as to give eiiicient service, there can be placed certain identifying means such as numerals, names or any like designating means.
When a wash has been receivedA from a customer', a tag bearing a designating means is assigned to that particular customer- The contents are separated, slik stockings being placed in a mesh bag and a small tag 6 detachedfrom the pliable member 1 and attached to the mesh bag. Colored articles;
White goods; laces and small rugs are treated in like manner, each lot receiving a small tag. When the wash has been finished, the bags are gathered and after the wash has been properly gathered together the small tags are attached to the pliable member. By this method there is no danger of the goods of one customer being placed with that of another. y
Having thus described our invention, what` `we claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, 1s
1.' In a-device for the purpose set forth, y1n combination an impervious and pliable `member of greater length than breadth at its broadest portion, and tapering therefrom, indicating means maintained thereon, the broadest portion maintaining a plurality of apertures and supplemental engaging members maintaining like indicating means.`
l 2. In a device for the purpose specied, in combinationl an impervious and pliable fying means and supplemental Inernloersv adapted to be removably attached and maintaining like identifying meane- In testimony whereof We aix our signa tures in the presence of two Witnesses.
