My invention relates to the machinin` ot bolts, and more paftieularly to the turning oi' pointed ends upon bolts. Bolts `are Vformed 'forging trof; rolled'stoclt, and it is requisite to iiorm by a. cutting operation a truer -mint upon the end than can be rachieved in the general operations. This block presents a concave cylindrical face to drum 2, and this face in its curvature is concentric with the cylindrical 'tace ot drum 2. The interval at Vwhich drum 2 and block 3 stand apart (an interval equal to the diameter oit the bolt to be pointed) may be nicely adjusted by securing block 3 to standard el by bolts 5, and forming; in blocks 3 radially extending,A slots 6 through which the securing` bolts 5 entend. This stendard (Which, as presently will appear, serves other and additional purposes) is arranged opposite drum 2 at one Iside. and at an interval trom drum 2.
