This invention relates to power transmitting devices and'inore particularly to a means for converting a rotary into areciprocatory motion. l i

The gear 8 is rotated about the stationary `axis passing through the drive shaft 24 of the usual wind wheel.
lt is thus seen that the` operation of the gear' Swill cause the housing to move vertically and laterally and thereby reciprocate the pump rodL 26.

In operationthe housing is suspended by a coiled spring-35 connected at its upper end to a bracelrt 86. The coiled spring 35 serves as a steadying means for the housing'and also holds the housing vin yposition in the event oi breakage ot the gear 8 onthle drive shalt ln this manner the housingoould '-'be prevented from falling onto some other part oi the Wind Wheel tower and possibly breaking the saine. i
The several parts of the power transmitting device may be readily and conveniently reversed when partly Worn'so that the wear will be uniformly distributed.
