Description

Patented Nov. El., llg,
HERBERT HABSH, 01' JACKSONVILLE, FLORIDA.
nrsrLaY RACK.
Application filed January 11, 1921.
.T 0 all 'ui/'wm t may concern:
Be it known that I, HERBERT HeRsH, a citizen of the United States, residing at Jacksonville, in the county of Duvall and State of Florida, have invented a new and useful Display Rack, of which the following is a speciiication.
The present invention aims to provide novel means for displaying grape fruit, eggs and the like, behind a soda fountain bar or elsewhere-although the device is of general application and may be used at places and for purposes other than those alluded to.
The invention aims to provide novel means for supporting and displaying an article, the construction being such that the article may be removed at will.
lt is within the province ot the disclosure to improve generally and to enhance the utility or' devices of that type to which the invention appertains.
With the above and other objects in view, which will appear as the description proceeds, the invention resides in the combination and arrangement of parts and in the details of construction hereinafter described and claimed, it being understood that, within the scope of what is claimed, changes in the precise embodiment of the invention shown can be made without departing from the spirit or the invention.
n the accompanying drawings t Figure l shows in front elevation, a device constructed in accordance with the invention; Figure 2 is a detail enlarged from Figure l; Figure 3 is a section on the line 8-3 or' Figure 2; Figure t is a section on the line fil-a of Figure 2; Figure 5 is a section on the line 5-5 of Figure 2D lin carrying out the invention there is pro vided a body l preferably in the form of a panel, plate or boa-rd, the body 1 being supplied with openings 10 or with any other suitable means, whereby the body l may be suspended in an approximately vertical position. The body l is supplied on its forward face with any desiredi number of depressions Serial No. 436,537.
' or seats 2. There may be as many or as few of the depressions as desired. Below each depression or seat 2 is located a bracket, the bracket comprising a :toot 4f and arms 3 pro- ]ectmg from the foot. The bracket may be held. on the body l by a securing device 5 passing through the foot 4. The arms 3 pro- ]ect upwardly above lthe lower end oi the depression 2, as shown in Figure 2. The arms diverge, so that, when viewed in front elevation, they lie at the sides oi the depression 2 as shown in Figure 2. The arms 3 slant outwardly with respect to the body l, as shown in Figure 3.
ln practical operation, a grape fruit, or other object is placed in the depression 2, the object being supported on the arms 3. The arms 3, preferably, are of such shape that they engage the object slightly below the horizontal plane passing through the centerof the object` and slightly in iront of a vertical plane passing through the center of the object. y
It is obvious that the device forming the subject matter of this application aiords a simple means whereby articles of any kind may be displayed tastefully, it being possible to remove and replace the articles, without diiiciculty.
Having thus described the invention, what is claimed is:
In a device of the class described, a body having a depression; a foot secured to the body, below the depression; and arms carried bythe Jfoot, the arms being extended upwardly toward the depression, and being disposed in diverging relation to each other, the arms slanting outwardly, Jtroni the toot, away from the body.v
In testimony that claim the foregoing as my own, l have hereto aiiixed my signa ture in the presence of two witnesses.
HERBERT HARSH.
Witnesses:
WM. W. BROWN, NATHAN H. BROWN.
