DISPLAY FIXTURE.

T0 all 'whom t may concern Be it known that I, SAMUEL GOLDBERG, a citizen of the United States, and resident of the borough of Manhattan, in the city, county7 and State of New York, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Display Fixtures, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to improvements in display fixtures, and has for its objects to provide a simple and inexpensive fixture of compact construction for effectively displaying books, magazines, picture post cards, and other articles, and to provide a revolving display lfixture constructed of parts of light weight which may be lvery easily assembled and taken apart.

The base of the fixture comprises a light metal casting having three supporting legs 1 of channel form extending radially outward and downward from a central hub 2 A provided with a socket or standard-receiving passage 3. A tubular metal standard 4 has its lower end detachably and non-rotatably held in socket 3, said standard being locked in the socket by af set screw 5 threaded through the hub portion 2 ot the base. rllhe lower revolving` head ot thanxture comprises a light metal casting having a hub portion 6 loose on standard 4 and connected by radial arms 7 with a dat annular rim 8. The lower end of hub 6 of this head rests on the upper end of the central portion. or hub 2 oi the base. The upper revolving head comprises a sheet metal `disk 9 loosely mounted `on standard 4 and preferably having its periphery pressed downwardly to form a stiening rim 10.
Several vertical rows of three-sided channel frames are detachably connected to the two revolving heads, each vertical row of Jframes lying in a plane tangential to a circle described about the standard 4. Each arti- Serial No. 447,056.
cle-holding frame is formed of a single piece of sheet metal and comprises a top wall 11, a bottom wall 12, and one vertical .side wall 18. The top wall of each frame 1s provided with depending article-retaining flanges 14 along its inner and outer edges, the bottom wall is provided with upstanding edge flanges 15, and the side wall 13 is provided with inwardly extending edge flanges 16. The abutting walls 11 and 12 of all of the frames in each row are spotwelded to each other, and two vertical rods 17 and 18 are spot-welded tothe inner face of each row of `trames. Rod 17 is welded to the flanges 14 and 15 at the inner ace of each frame, adjacent the open side of the frame, and rod 18 is welded to theVr flange 16 at the inner face ofeach frame.
The upper ends of rods 17 and 18 project above the top wall of the uppermost frame in the row'and engage in apertures in the upper headr 9. The lower ends of the rods project below the bottom wall of the lowermost frame in the row and engage in apertures in rim 8 of `the lower head. The apertures in which rods 17 engage are located adjacent the outer edge of the rim, and they apertures in which rods 18 engage are located adjacent the inner edge of the rim, so that thelowermost frame is seated on the rim 8 of the lower head throughout the major portion of the area of its bottom wall. The rod-receiving apertures in the heads are so located that each row of frames lies in a plane tangential to a circle described about the axis of rotation of the series of rows of frames, and so that the side walls 13 of the `Jframes in each row are located wholly inside the open sides-of the frames in the next row, the Walls 13 of one row of frames being overlapped by the next row of frames. This arrangement permits the assembly of a large number of vertical rows of frames between heads of small diameter without obscuring any part of the open outer. faces of the frames.
The upper head 9 is held clamped upon the top walls of the upper frames in the several rows by means of a collar 19 detachably locked on standard 4 by a set screw 20 and engaging the upper face of the head 9. It will be obvious that by loosening the collar 19 and liftinghead 9, the several rows of rigidly connected pockets may be readily removed. It will also be obvious that the two revolving heads may be readily slipped on and off the standard 4, and that the standard may be readily disconnected from the base.
What I claim is:
1. Av revolving display fixture comprising a base, a verticalstandard, means for detachably and non-rotatably connecting vthe standard with the base, a lower revolving head detachably yand rotatably mounted on the standard'and resting' on the base, an -upper revolving head detachably and rotatably mounted. on the standard, a collar detachably loclredon the standard Vand engaging the upper side of the upper head, a y plurality of vertical rows of three-sided `channel trames, the trames ineach row being rigidly connected and having their open sides overlapping the closed sides 'of the viframes inthe ynext row, and `means forming independent sepa-rable connections between each row ot' frames and the two revolving' heads.

vertical standarclheld tothe base, a pair of 'frames in each row bein-g rigidly secured tov each other and having` their open sides at the same edfg'e ofthe row, and a pair of vertical reinforcing rods secured to each row ci frames, said heads having apertures 1n which the ends of the rods engage and saidv apertures being so located that veach rowf'of frames lies ina plane tangential tto a circle described about the standard.
7. A display fixture connrisinY a'n-up.- `standing support, a circular series of rigid article-holding `'pockets varranged around said support in independently removable units with the pockets in each unit rigidly connected, said series of pockets 'being arranged in vertical rows with the entrance openings of veach row along :one vertical yedge of the row outside of the vertical plane of the outer face of vvthe adjacent row, a pair of heads mounted on the support vand capable oi relative vertical movement longitudinally v'of the support, one pocket of `each row being seated 'on the flower 'one of said heads, and interlocking connections between said heads and each removable unit o vsaid series of pockets separable by relative vertical move ment between the heads.
8. A display fixture comprising an upstanding support, a circular series of articleholdingl pockets arranged around said sup port in independently removable rigid units of connected pockets, said series of pockets being arranged in vertical rows with the entrance openings of each row along the same vertical edge of the row outside of the vertical plane of the outer face of the adjacent row, a pair of vertically spaced heads rotatably mounted on the support and capable of relative vertical movement longitudnally of the support, interlocking connections between said heads and the several removable units of said series of pockets for n holding the series of pockets to rotate with the heads, said connections being separable by relative vertical movementbetween the heads, and means for releasably holding the heads against relative vertical movement.
9. A display fixture comprising a pair 'of vertically spaced heads, means for supporting the heads for rotary and relative vertical movements, vertical rows of article-holding pockets arranged around the axis of rotation of the heads with one pocket of each row resting on the lower head, the pockets in each row being connected to form an independent rigid unit, vertically separable interlocking connections between the heads and rows of pockets for holding the pockets and heads to rotate as a unit, and means for releasably holding said heads against relative vertical movement.
