To all whom it may' concern.' l
Beit known that l, Vm'ron ENTLER, citizen of'ltaly residing at Bremen, Germany, have invented certain new land useful Improve-v ments in Aeroplanes, of which the following is a specification. r
My invention relates to improvements in aeroplanes. The principal object thereof is to providea base-frame, on which the different parts of the aeroplane, as the motors with tanks, seatssupporting planes, body, wheel-framework, etc.l and the like are supported. This basefframe forms the support for the l5 whole'aeroplane and its body incontradistinction to known constructions in which the Y aeroplane is constructed on the body as a support.
rlhesald base-frame may also be used fory supporting passenger-cabins and other parts and inthe case of aeroplanes with a' plurality of motors the latter may be supported by extensions of the base-frame.
My said invention further comprises the d" combination 4and arrangement of parts here# inafter more fully described and pointed out yin the claim. A 4
Referring to the accompanying drawings Fig. l is an elevation of an aeroplane constructed according. tomy invention, Eig. 2' is a cross or endview of the same, certain parts being omittedand'lFig. 3 is a top vie'w tuting an independent unit separate from partly broken` away.
In this embodiment the base-frame is built |up" of'two framework-beams, 'the' topbeam a and the bottom-beam 6,'which are rigidly connected to each other.- rllhe beams are lconf nected by struts 0 and the framework soA formed is connected ,and 'stiened byv cross- 'struts d and diagonal struts e. l v
"not illustrated as they are well known in and c lnto this framework, forming the basel frame are mounted the motor f and its a purtenant parts as the steering device g, t e f seat it and.- the tank rlhe lower supporting plane ,lzl isV fixed tothe lower-beam at Z and lin the like manner is the wheel-frames work m, secured". to the base irame at l A ando.
rllhe tower q, to which the upper supporting plane p is fastened atv" and s, is also secured to the base frame. The body t surrounds the base-frame and is fixed thereto by any suitable securing devlces which are of themselves.
rllhe body may be constructed of two parts, which may be detachable.
l Theadvantage ofthe aeroplane-construction according to my linvention is that the body is'free from ,the great strains produced Y60 when the laeroplane rises and because-it is possible to remove it from the base-frame, whereby all parts of the interior are freely accessible. The body forms a cover for the said base frame. v
The invention -is not restricted to the Vembodiment shown in4 the drawings, changes being possible 45without departing from the spirit oit-the iigiifentionllclaim: I70 lin an aeroplanel a body, a supporting `planea motor and a fre-work consti-l'v the bodyhthe frame-work supporting the.
body, the supporting plane andthe motor, 75,' thef'said body being made of vtwoparts.
` f vinnen narran.
