WAGON.
Specification of Letters Patent No. 14,304, dated February 26, 1856.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, BENJ. B. BUNDY, of the town of l Valton, of the county of Delaware and of the State of New York, have invented a new and Improved Mode of Com-' bining the Springs and Axles of WVagons; and I do hereby declare that the following is a full and exact description thereof, reference being had to the accompanying drawing, and to the letters of reference marked thereon, making a part of this specification, in which Figure 1 represents the half axle; Fig. 2, the head block by which the forward axle is attached to the body; Fig. 3, a longitudinarian, and Fig. 4 a perspective view.
Letter A represents the axle; B, C, the bearings; a a, the head block, d d, the springs which are a half elliptic spring fastened to the axle at O G, by a clip With a link joint. The back one is attached to the body at f, and the front one is attached to the under half of the circle at g, thus allowing the forward wheels to turn. The half axles meet in the boxes or bearings C which are firmly bolted, one to the middle sill of the body, the other to the head block, the shaft or tongue is attached to the forward axle at h h by means of clips as in ordinary wagons.
What I claim as my invention is- The mode of combining the springs and axles of wagons, substantially as herein set forth. BENJ. B. BUN DY.
