A represents the oil-reservoir. B is the base. 0 is the central Wick-tube. D is the cup. E is the opening, and F is the filling-tube. G is the wick. The wick is tubular, and slips onto the central tube 0, as seen in the drawing. The tube 0 passes entirely through the reservoir and through the portion of the column H, which is above the opening E. I represents curved brackets-three, more or less -Which connect the parts of the divided column, and form the opening E. The cup D, as seen in the drawing, rests in the lower part of the openingybut it may be suspended from the upper part of the column or brackets. This cup is for receiving the oil-drippings and bits of burnt wick which drop through the central tube 0.

I am aware that the air-tube passing through the reservoir, and provided with a drip-cup thereunder, is not, broadly, new; but by male ing the column in two parts, 11 H, and con nected by the rods I, I am enabled to leave a convenient space between them for the insertion and removal of the cup.

Having thus described in y invention, I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent- The combination, with a loose drip-cup, ol' the sections H H of a lamp-column connected by intermediate rods I, wide enough apart to allow the insertion and removal of drip-cup, as described.
