and which are pivotally connected to the ears 4 and to lugs 13 formed on cleats 14 which are equal in length to the width of the rims. The ends 01 the cleats 14 are adapted to be engaged by the clips 7 in the manner shown in Figs. 1 and 3 so that the cleats are movable out of engagement with the clips in one direction but are firmly held in engagement with the clips when pulled It will be seen that the position of the cable 8 and its manner of connection with the angularly disposed members 12 will. give a resiliency to the wheel structure which will obviate the use of pneumatic tires.
What I claim is 1. A resilient wheel structure comprising an inner rim provided with a rim band and ears thereon, an outer rim having a rim band provided with clips on its marginal edges, cleats extending transversely and in contact with the said outer rim band and adapted to be engaged by the said clips, the cleats on the outer band being in advance of the ears on the inner band, a cable extending around the space between the bands at the center thereof, and levers arranged in pairs pivotally connected together on the said cable and having their terminals pivotally connected to the said cleats and ears at diagonally opposite points.
2. A resilient wheel structure comprising an inner rim provided with a rim band equipped with ears, an outer rim having a rim band provided with clips on its marginal edges, cleats extending transversely and in contact with the said rim outer band, and adapted to be engaged by the said clips, the clips on the outer band being in advance of the ears on the inner band, a cable extending around the space between the bands at the center thereof, and levers arranged in pairs pivotally connected togetheron the said cable and having their terminals pivotally connected to the said cleats and ears at diagonally opposite points, the said cable being equipped with a sleeve at regularly spaced intervals, the said levers being pivotally arranged on the said sleeve and crossing each other at their central'points, each pair of levers being disposed tangentially points in advance of the inner connections With respect to the said cable. and receiving the said cable. 10
