Description

` wHlPPEn. APPLICATION FILED AUG. I3, 1920 Patented May 16, 1922.
imam? EINAR H. BERG, Ol CHICAGO, ILLINOIS.
VJ'HIPPER.
Lei-16,59*?.
Application iled August 13, 1920.
To all u1/wm t may concern:
Be it known that I, Erima II. BERG, a citizen of the United States, residing at Chicago, in the county of Cook and State of Illinois, have invented new and useful Improvements in TWhippers, of which the following is a specification.
rlhis invention relates to a whipper and has for its primary object the construction of a whipper that may be manufactured at a relatively low cost without sacrificing the eflicient operation thereof.
An object of the invention is the novel manner of constructing and associating theparts so as to provide a more substantial construction at a minimum cost.
With these and other object-s in view the invention will be better understood from the following detailed description taken in connection with the accompanying drawing wherein:
Fig. l is `an elevation of my improved whipper.
Fig. 2 is a sectional view.
Again referring to the drawing illustrating one construction of my invention the numeral l. designates a bracket having a U shape body portion 2 and handle extension 3. llotatably supported by the bracket is the shaft 4 having formed thereon a collar 5 for regulating the position of the shaft. This shafthas rotatably supported thereon a sleeve 6 to the lower end of which is connected the flange 7 of the paddle 8 that is provided with a plurality of holes 9 for increasing the agitation. Shaft 4 and sleeve 6 each have a gear 10 connected thereto meshing with the master gear 11 driven by the handle l2. This master gear is rotatably supportedv by the bracket as indicated Specification of Letters Patent.
Serial No. 403,366.
at 13. rlhe lower' end of the shaft a terminates in a ball lll for reducing the frictional engagement of tie shaft with the receptacle, A second paddle l5 also provided with holes I6 has a flange 17 secured to the shaft, and spacing the paddles apart for allowing free movement thereof is the bearing 18.
From the foregoing description taken in connection with the accompanying drawing it will be apparent that I provide a whipper of few parts substantially associated and capable of co-acting in a manner to obtain the best results possible,
It is, of course, to be understood that the invention may be constructed in various other manners and the parts associated in different relations and, therefore, I do not desire to be limited in any manner except as set forth in the claim hereunto appended.
Having thus described my invention what I claim is:
A whipper comprising a shaft having a spherical end, a sleeve mounted upon the major portion of said shaft, a handle formed of flat metal bent to provide parallel horizontal portions and a connecting vertical portion, said shaft extending through said horizontal portions and the lowermost of said horizontal portions resting upon the upper end of said sleeve, a collar pinned upon said shaft and engaging the uppermost of said horizontal portions, beating paddles mounted one upon the lower end of said sleeve and one upon said shaft and in engagement with said spherical head, a bevel gear rotatably carried by said vertical portion and means connecting said gear and shaft.
In testimony whereof I affix my signature.
