Be it known that I, CHARLES M. RonIN- SON, a citizen of the United States, residing at New Haven, in the county of New Haven and State of Connecticut, have invented a new and useful Improvement in Canopies for \Vindshields; and I do hereby declare the following, when taken in connection with the accompanying drawings and the characters of reference marked thereon, to be a full, clear, and exact description of the same, and which said drawings constitute part of this application, and represent, in-

This invention relates to improvement in canopies for wind-shields, such, for instance, as are applied to the upper edges of windshields to form a sun or storm shade, the object of the invention being a simple construction of frame adapted to be readily applied to the edge of a wind-shield when required, and the invention consists in the construction as hereinafter described and particularly recited in the claim.
In carrying out my invention, I form a frame from. a piece of wire, the central portion of which forms a front-bar 3; the ends turned rearward at rlght angles to form side Specification of Letters Patent.

to extend the full width of the shield, or
only sufficiently to shade the eyes of the driver. It may be produced at a very low cost, is readily applied or detached, and is sufficiently firm to withstand the strain imposed upon it.
I claim:
A canopy for wind-shields, comprising a frame formed from a single piece of wire bent to form a front bar, bottom bars and upwardly to form loops with downwardly turned ends, said loops connected by a strap, and a strip of flexible material connected with the said strap and front bar.
