To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that we, WARREN R. LEAS, a citizen of the United States, residing at Wyoming, in the county of Luzerne and State of Pennsylvania, and CHARLES E. LEAS, a citizen of the United States, residing at Wyoming, in the county of Luzerne and State of. Pennsylvania, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Picture Holds, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to a picture frame holding device and has for its object to provide means whereby a picture or other frame may be retained in a properly hung position upon a wall.
A further objectof the invention is to provide a device by means of which when a picture, or other frame, is hung and properly adjusted, the same will maintain its adjusted position regardless of shocks or vibrations.
With the above objects in view, we have invented a device illustrated in the accompanying drawings, in which,
Figure 1 is an elevational view of our device,
Figure 2 is a bottom plan view thereof, and
Figure 3 is a bottom plan view of a picture frame shown swung from a wall and showing the application of our invention.
Like reference characters indicate like parts throughout the following specification and in the several views in the drawings in which 1 indicates a picture frame, to the bottom member 2 of which is attached a picture holds 3 and 4, both identical in construction and which consist of a fiat body portion 5 having inclined legs 6 and 7 ter- 'minating in substantially right angularly disposed feet 8 and 9, the bottom surfaces 10 and 11 of which are inclined inwardly at an angle of about 13 degrees so that, upon slight pressure, said surfaces will engage the walls 12 and seat fiat thereagainst. Said surfaces 10 and 11 are roughed as indicated to about one-thirty second of an inch deep in order to frictionally engage the surface 13 of said wall 12 and prevent any lateral movement of the frame 1. The body 5 of the device is provided with a push pin 14 whereby the device may be attached to said frame by merely pushing the pin thereinto. The device is made, preferably, of rubber, or some composition similar thereto.

Having described our invention, that which we claim is new and desire to procure by Letters Patent is:
1. A device of the character described, formed of rubber and consisting of a body portion having spread-apart legs and means whereby said body portion may be rigidly secured to a frame.
2. A device of the character described, formed of rubber and consisting of a body portion having spread apart legs and means whereby said body portion may be rigidly secured to a frame, said legs terminating in angularly disposed flexible feet.
3. A device of the character described, formed of rubber and consisting of a body portion having spread apart legs and means whereby said body portion may be fixedly secured to a frame, said legsterminating in angularly disposed feet, the outer surface of said feet being inclined.
4. A device of the character described, formed of rubber and consisting of a body portion having spread apart legs and means whereby said body portion may be fixedly secured to a frame, said legs terminating in angularly disposed feet, the outer surface of said feet being inclined and having a roughened surface.
5. A device of the character described, embracing a body portion, legs projecting therefrom, feet formed angularly of said legs, said feet having surfaces inclined toward one another, and means whereby said portions may be caused to frictionally engage a flat surface.
6. A device of the character described, embracing-a body portion, legs projecting therefrom, feet formed angularly of said legs, said feet having surfaces inclined toward one another and means whereby said portions may be caused to frictionally engage a flat surface,said legs being resilient.
