G. A. KELLEY.
GAME.
APPLICATION FILED DEC.3, I9I9.

6'. Helle] PATENT OFFICE.
GEORGE ALBERT KELLEY, OF. BURLINGTON, KANSAS.
GAME.
Specification of Letters Patent.
Patented Nov. 1, 1921.
Application led December 3, 1919. Serial No. 342,052.
To all 'whom t may concern Be it known that I, GEORGE A. KELLEY, a citizen of the United States, residing at Burlington, in the county of Coffey and State of Kansas, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Games and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same.
This invention relates to new and useful improvements in games and has for one of its objects the provision of a device of this character which will afford amusement and one that requires considerable skill in playing.
Another object of this invention is the provision of a game of the above stated character, which will be simple, durable and efiicient, and which maybe manufactured and sold at a comparatively low cost.
With these and other objects in view as will become apparent as the description proceeds, the invention consists in certain novel features of construction, combination, and arrangement of parts as will be hereinafter more fully described and claimed. Y
For a complete understanding of my invention, reference is to be had to the following description and accompanying drawings, in which Figure 1 is a plan view of a game constructed in accordance with my invention, Fig. 2 is a sectional view of the same.
Referring in detail to the drawing, the
. numeral 1 indicates as an entirety a game board consisting of a bottom wall 2 having upstanding walls 3 that support a cover frame 4. The cover frame 4 may be secured to the upstanding walls in any desired manner and is closed by a transparent panel 5. A pair of arcuate shaped members 6 are secured to the bottom 2 within the sides 3 and have their ends relatively spaced to form entrances 7. The arcuate shaped members also form inner and outer fields 8 and 9 on the bottom 2. A plurality of circular members 0r walls 10 are secured centrally of the wall 2 and arranged in spaced relation to each other to ,form runways 11 and a chamber 12 forming the goal to the game. The circular members or walls 10 have their ends spaced from each other to form entrances 13 which entrances are disposed 0ppositely to each other making it necessary for the game pieces 14- to travel from one runway to another in order to reach the chamber 12 or the goal of the game. The game pieces are in the forms of balls or spheres and are constructed from any material suitable for the purpose and are preferably of two colors. One color represents the soldiers and officials of a country, while the other color represents the soldiers of another country and the object of this game is to get the officials and army of one color within the chamber or goal 12 while the army of the other country is distributed throughout the runways 11. The army and the officials that are moved into the goal or chamber 12 are of a less number than the army disposed or moved in the runways 11.
A plurality of arcuate shaped members or walls 15 are secured within the inner field 8 upon the wall 2 and have their ends relatively spaced to form entrances 16. The members or walls 15 are adapted to form pens in which the different game pieces can be assorted.
The board 1 is held within the hands of a person and by tilting the same in various directions, the balls or game pieces will travel about the surface of the board 2 and into the desired runways and chamber 12.
Ihile I have shown and described the preferred embodiment of my invention, it will be understood that minor changes in construction, combination, and arrangement of parts may be made without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention as claimed. y
Having thus described my invention, what I claim is A game comprising a board having marginal flanges, a transparent cover supported by said flanges, arcuate strips secured to the board and having their ends spaced to provide oppositely arranged entrances and said strips form inner and outer fields, a plurality of relatively spaced circular members secured to the board centrally thereof and having entrances;Y and the entrance of one spaced ends to form assorting pockets semember being arranged opposltely to the curedv to the board Within the inner eld. l0

be moved through the entrances by tilting E. B. HOW,
the board, and curved members having c E. A. DECKER.
